Chanel Vanishes - How Do I Re-tune?

Hi

I seem to have lost a channel and someone mentioned that they need re-tuning

Spiderbox HD6000 - no channels have vanished in the 1 year that I have had this box but would like this particular channel back

Any help appreciated

It would help if you were to say which channel, on which Sat it is that you are referring to, as far as I am aware there are no qualified mind readers on the forum.???

In a way you answered your own question? Re-tune/ Re- scan?

You could search on the www for new frequency of the channel then scan in that tp or scan whole sat or use channel editor on pc?
As aldo mentions It helps to know what channels because you may get a quick reply to what TP the channel is on now?

Just not sure how the whole thing works so if I retune/rescan does that do all my channel list?

So you could go into sat setup and manual scan one tp? then select the channel to put back into tour ch list.
Or if using the editor on pc download from www and import your fav list?

I was scanning the free slot (which was why I was getting nothing)

It seems to be scanning the whole lot now :)

.......Bogus! - Now it has rescanned and fixed everything but added like a million new channels that sre of no use and wrecked the favourites list. Guess what I will be fixing all weekend? hahahaha

The problem here is that all of the popular sites Lyngsat,Flysat & ********* fail to have this change listed at the present time as they changed yesterday the same as Sky Arts1 & Sky Showcase.

Showcase the standard free channel changed a few days ago

and the other problem is - I gave a 28.2 e link but I think it may be 19 e the op was wanting? 1 N ? or maybe not lol .. If you use the channel editor on the PC you can save your fav set-up and that can be imported back onto a new scan. It save's a bit of time. anyway good luck..

Well I was fairly comfortable with the PC Ch Editor when it came to deleting all the HD channels (when Sly changed their MPRG settings or whatever it was) and creating my own FAV lists etc - but never had to edit a chanels settings

I just tried to edit the channel that has dropped, but failed miserably.

I'm afraid it's all beyond me lol

I saw that when I did a whole new scan. Problem I have is the only parts that I can edit in channel editor are SID, VPID, APID, PMT and PCR. The frequency can't be changed.

I been messing with a vu box for a few weeks so memory a bit fuzzy-
If you have scanned the sat on the box and lost your fav list can you not save your channels to usb and load that onto the pc editor then import your saved fav settings in the editor?
If I remember correctly it gets most of the list back? Think al go check on that? lol

Yes I was thinking that - it;s just going to be a mission deleting all of the dross / duplicates etc

Just thought it would be easy to update a chanel :(

I have sussed how to add a new chanel to the 12110 H part in PC Editor. Its all the other bits of info that now not sure of (SID, VPID, APID, PMT and PCR)

If you can reload your saved channel list on the box (if you made one)
Then goto sat settings menu then TP and Sat manager .... You can go to the sat in question and edit the TP's there ... delete add and scan
That would be quicker for you now you know were the channel is?
Then just goto channel and ad to fav's ?

ps if you are scanning remember to to put NIT on this will then only take TP's that are not in the box and save overloading the box.
and you can delete dead tps as mentioned above

OK so you are working with the spider box now and not the pc -
Goto sat settings and open tp manager you will see a list of sats on the left hand side..
scroll down the list until the sat you want is highlighted
move across (press right arrow on remote) onto the TP's on the right
move down the list looking for old dead tp
when highlighted press the coloured button for delete and then just delete one NOT ALL!
Then after deleting press the add coloured button and add the new details of tp. then scan.
Remember in scan, to change the settings to one sat and one tp so it scans that tp only
goto that sat list and goto channel editor in the box -- find the knew channel and add to favs list
then goto the faves list and goto channel edit and move said channel to the spot you wish to save it in?
Remember always save or backup your list before and after you do any edits to the box (just in case you need to get it back)

OK - So I finally got 12110 to rescan and pick up SlyMovShowcase

The only issue I now have is when I save new chanel list as backup to USB, then load in PC CH editor to make it all nice again in alphabetical order etc I have issues

BUT - I can live with it for now. Just means that a few chanels stating with S are at the bottom of an alphabetical list after the XYZs lol

Anyhoo, that's been my Saturday. Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated :)
