Can the box be put in standby mode when a timer recording has started i.e. like the sky hd box

Yes, I do it quite often, but usually when I've set an instant record, until the end of the program.
I'm running Black Hole 2.14.

Works on all images. Even on ViX. :D

It will also record scheduled events while in standby. So you can trawl through the EPG and set it up to record when you are out or wanting to sleep. I find a lot of the old classic movies tend to show up in the wee hours on school nights so this feature comes in really handy.

Just to state this obvious that this will not work if the box is in deep standby.
