cannot conect to router

have a new router and cannot connect to router
cable flashing on back of spiderbox when connected
tried manual and auto
when doing on auto all 000 , but mac address
any ideas?.

this actually happened to me on buying new router
tried everything
but mine got cured when i switched off router...unpluged off mains
i had it ethernet cable connected...on auto
i switched on router with box and ethernet connected...it sorted itself out
(origonally i was starting box up...and then connecting ethernet cable to box and router)
