new to android

being a bit thick when it comes to the latest phones,well my daughter brought me an android phone,now i have been using navmii as a satnav on the phone,but would like to install the tom tom app thats posted in this section,do you need a data connection to use it? as i only have calls and text in my price plan
as always any help much appreciated

No it is not like google maps. You will need enough memory on your phone or SD card for the maps though

add a MICRO sd CARD, then try the new android tomtom in the tomtom forum here

I use it myself on my Android phone , actually on 2 phones . It's very good and as already posted doesn't need any data [live] connection . Just follow the instructions and copy the required files/folders to a microSD card [ I use 32GB cards , there cheap nowadays] and install the .apk file. Of course , your phone does need to have GPS for it to work.
