Hi all new to this box reset factory settings by mistake been trying for 3 days now to either flash which nothing happening tried using filezilla but not connecting same with dcc so is their any good Samaritans near Newcastle upon tyne area that can restore the settings for me I no this might be at a cost thanks

Which image are you trying to flash?

Have you not read the sticky or dummies guides? If the box was set up for you by someone else? I would say contact them, If not read and formate your USB , download image, unzip image, move to USB, power off STB, plug on USB, Power on STB and let it take it's course ? If you made back up you will be prompted to re install backup.

tried this flashing with blackhole or vix image but when usb in reads for about 2 seconds then just starts back up with old blackhole image and that's one of main problems any tried a couple of usb sticks both the same help please

make sure the usb stick is formatted on your pc or laptop in fat32 format

unpack the download so you have a vuplus folder , copy this to the usb stick

make sure that inside that vuplus folder is a folder called duo, inside the duo folder should be 3 files

a bin file , and two jffs2 files

now ensure your vu is switched OFF at the rear switch and no usb sticks in the back either

insert your programming usb stick in the front usb slot, use only this front one

turn the rear switch on, and watch the display, it should read the usb stick and programme the box

I did mine a few days ago with BH216 in exactly the above manner, then I used its menus to update it online to BH 2.161

Going by that It not reading USB?
Check the folder on usb - All images have: vuplus > duo > files. (If it has 2 vuplus folders then a duo or if it is still zipped then box will not read)
I bought 5 usb sticks and only 2 are good for my vu so still could be your usb? (different makes )
Have you checked the settings of the box ? does it have internet active and are the mounts mounted?
Take your time and start again if it trying to read usb then it might be wrong image files or corrupt files or rubbish usb?
Thats my thoughts on it and like I said I ended up with 5 usb and a working box ... good luck

Can I add the blackhole image 2.0.7 without using usb stick on filezilla or a another a guide would be helpful thanks

you should be following the tutorials in the sticky threads, plus 2.07 is old hat now so try BH 2.15 or 2.16

no it cannot be done in other ways, not by filezilla either

Unless you're unsure if your VU+ Duo is genuine, then it might be best to stick with an early Black Hole image.
