hi can anyone help me out i am trying to work out whether i will be able to get the free channels on 28 east in the greek isles only want the free ones as miss seeing the rubbish they show on there sometimes any help ????? dish size needed would be handy i am expecting it will need to be very big maybe 2 metres many thx

I think you will struggle even with a 2m to 3m dish , although you should be able to get satback channels from 27.5w if you get a suitable receiver , find out what size dishes the bars and restaurants use and what they can get with them

I agree with echelon look around locally and ask the bars etc and also the local expats, because 28.2 Reception is difficult over there and varies from island to island and indeed on the different parts of the same island. From what I have read the same applies to 27.5 but to a lesser extent.

IPTV may be the better option. When I was in Corfu last year there was a 3mt dish in the garden but all the usual sports channels on 28 east was IPTV

cheers for replies yeah looking at iptv as well will have a look round but mostly they stay on their own sats like hellasat and alike will ahve to ask alot more people cheers for help just thought someone could give me a definate answer

Quick answer, No, the beams are too narrow,there are lots of redundant 4.2 metre dishes here in Cyprus,check the footprints of the sats that do the free channels and you will see the problem.Best to get decent internet and use something like Kodi or stream with a prog like filmon,but watch the limits that your isp might impose.Another alternative if you have friends or family on fibre is to use a slingbox.
