its an old box now, so could have psu issues or motherboard issues
is it ok on fta channels, or does it still glitch on those ? (try bbc and itv channels)
also , press the info button twice on the affected channels and check the signal and quality bars are up high , preferably about 80% to 95% or so

If the glitching is only on scrambled channels, and not Free To Air channels, then the problem is probably nothing to do with the Spiderbox, or signal quality.
The re-booting problem could be due to a number of things, including over heating, a faulty channel list, a faulty connection, software, or even hardware.
How often does the receiver re-boot?
There is a recovery tool, for the Spiderbox, but if it only re-boots occasionally I would first check it isn't over heating, or try re-flashing the receiver, with the last patch.

the latest spiderbox firmware patches are in the spiderbox firmware section here on pimps, but they are a few years old like your box ;)
the spiderbox tutorials are in the spiderbox tutorial forum here on pimps
if the box is rebooting, its a common fault and likely to be component failure, in which case you should buy a new box
I have known one or two 9000 boxes and at least three 7000 boxes that suffered similar issues , probably dry caps in the psu
