Just because you don't understand FTP, File Transfer Protocol, program, doesn't mean you can't learn.
In reality using a FTP program, following the instructions, available on the forum, is easier than using a remote control, to type in the line, and something I'm sure you can quickly learn.

Hi Mickha

Again many thanks for your reply

Yes I have tried using FTP programs

But they don't mean anything to me

What I get stuck on is var/ect. What do you do with it ??????

Yes I have the Cccam.cfg file I try putting it in Dcc that it I have been on this for ages getting now are

I had a SPIDERBOX HD9000 where you can input the CLine by remote easy for me YES
That fell to the F100

What I would like is for someone please give a step by step guide on how to to put Cccam.cfg file using Dcc

I know a lot of people reading this will say it is easy yes it is for those who know what they are doing

Sorry this is a long reply I do hope you see my point

you logon to the linux box with your FTP program

this shows you the ROOT directory , the directory all the folders and files are in , this is the START point

some folders have sub folders (directories) in them and/or files, others may not , it varies like on your pc

var is one of the folders in the root directory, which may contain files and/or folders (like the folder etc)

so etc is one such SUB - folder (a sub folder is a folder in folder (same as on your pc or laptop) )

so var/etc means the etc folder located inside the var folder from the root directory - root - var - etc is the total path

so the shown path would be var/etc which is what we write to inform others like yourself

inside the etc directory is cccam.cfg (if cccam is installed)
this is edited by the ftp program, like filezilla or dcc or flash fxp , either in situ or on your pc

you could copy it to your pc
edit it with notepad or better still the free program notepad++ (notepad plus)
so you copy the c line, then paste it into the cccam.cfg file, and save it
if done on the pc , copy the modified file back to var/etc from the pc, overwriting the old one already in there

restart enigma 2 (or reboot the box)

took me longer to write this than it does to do the job , lol :)

hope that helps

tools for the job

VuCC 0.8 and use FILEZILLA from within it
or
DCC
or
FLASH FXP (the one I usually use)
or any other FTP program

notepad++

I used to use FTP programs when updating very old websites, I think it was Cute FTP, and it really is quite basic, and easy to pick up, especially for editing a CCcam.cfg file.
You posted the make/model of your receiver while I was posting.
Lee, of Goldwafers fame, has done a very good how to guide, in the VU+ section.
First off have you loaded a CCcam, like 230, yet?
Which image have you got loaded on your VU+?

With this information I should think members can get your receiver running, with a suitable CCcam, and the CCcam.cfg file edited, within minutes.

I would advise loading CCcam 230, if you haven't already, especially if using a later Black Hole image.

VuCC 0.8 contains filezilla, plus you should read that guide mickha mentioned too

I used to use Cute FTP years ago, until I found flash fxp , but filezilla will do the job from VuCC

plus VuCC can be used to telnet to the box etc too

Hi Mickha

Yes I have Cccam 2.30 loaded

Blackhole image that I am using is 2.09

I have been trying to use Dcc I find it easy to load IPK files any thing els well that it

echelon
17-07-2015, 03:33 PM
BH 2.09 is old but should still work for the basics (they are up to 2.17 now, or use the openBH 0.1 image instead)

VuCC is a better idea as you have filezilla which is like windows explorer , plus it has telnet as well, if required (for setting the password etc)

echelon I thank you for pointing me in the direction of Vucc

I had a mate how would help me out

When i got was a CLine he would put that in by REMOTE

Don't worry supergab,
can you please try to go through it one step at a time.

Do you still have Black Hole 216 loaded?

If so please go into the menu, Setup, System, Network, and select either LAN, if connected to your router by a wire, or WLAN, if connected using the wireless option.

Click on the Adapter Settings option and make a note of the IP Address, this is needed to connect to your receiver.

Now go to your PC and download CCcam 230, from here:
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?161009-Vu-Plus-community-BH-oe2-emus-(2013)-(2014)

Do not attempt to unzip the file but save it to your computer Desktop.

If you haven't already please download VUCC:
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?168091-VuCC-Vu-Control-Centre-V0-8

Start up the VU+ Control Centre, by using Winzip, Winrar, or 7-zip, to uncompress it and click on VUCC.exe, this should start the program.
Now put your receivers IP Address into the IP address box and click connect.
You should now get 230 Login Successful message on the right.

Once you have this please post back, or if you have any problems getting to this stage.

if this is the clone vu solo mini below, dont start putting new BH firmware on it
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?170627-VU-Solo-Mini

stick to a clone safe image like that 2.09 if its working

only use proper and up to date images on a proper and genuine vu box

other than that do as mickha says above and post back, including box type , plus BH version and cccam version numbers

if its a genuine vu duo , try bh 2.16 or openBH 0.1 in the flash , add cccam v2.30 as above too

https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?171362-Black-Hole-Vu-Duo-2-1-6

or

https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?171823-openBH-0-1-dated-19-june-2015

and note the ip address down, or set it to manual by turning off DHCP auto and setting it to say 60 , as in 192.168.0.60 if your router uses 192.168.0.xxx numbering

let is know what the lan ip address is too , like say 192.168.0.60 (its anonymous to everyone else anyway)

also let us know what area of the country you are in , like say Bristol , Glasgow , Edinburgh etc

Cant load Blackhole 2.16

Vu stuck on Starting

I have tried 2 dongles and in to usb ports on the Duo

Mickha

Does your VU+ Duo have the last updated bootloader?
If you switch the receiver off, at the rear, then back on again, you should see the bootloader information on the front of the display.
Please post if it says CFE 3.
You can still load older versions of Black Hole.
have you followed the guide, by Lee, for loading an image?
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?133588-Dummies-guide-to-setting-up-Vu-Duo

Right here we go

Having tried 4 differance BH

I have now loaded OpenBh 0,1

i am just ab out to set it up

No Mickha
this switch off and on to find CFE3

can I switch on/off at any point

supergab
17-07-2015, 08:33 PM
OK

Now I have loaded OpenBH 0,1

I have completed the first Service Scan

Can I load TSPanel and load CCCam 2.30

echelon
17-07-2015, 08:39 PM
yes load cccam 2.30 for BH from the ipk file in the link mickha gave you

I suppose you can load tspanel although I dont know why you would do so, plus if its an old one it may conflict with your new image

frankly, I would not bother with tspanel for now, its definitely NOT loaded on my duo here , just stick with cccam 2.30 and make sure you have the latest catseyes E2 list on the box too (which are both on mine)

also go in the menus and do a software update as well (menu - setup - software update)

Mickha
17-07-2015, 08:44 PM
When you switch the power off, either at the rear, or by unplugging it, then power up, you get a brief message, on your disply, it states something like VU+ Duo CFE 3.
I think CFE 3 was the last updated bootloader, for the Duo, if it wasn't updated then later Black Hole versions wouldn't load.

Now you have Open Black Hole loaded please go into the Menu, Setup, System, Network, and Adapter Settings to find your receivers IP Address, then enter this either in the VUCC or Filezilla.

Default username is root, everything else can be left blank, apart from the IP Address.

Sorry missed posts, due to typing, please find your receivers IP address and connect to your receiver from your PC.

Found the link, on the vuplus website, discussing updating the bootloader in the VU+ Duo:

http://www.vuplus.com/board/boardView.php?idx=3&pagenum=2

I have put in CCCam v2.30 as a IPK File but I cant find out where you load in to the receiver using openBH software

I will echelon I like the look of this image openBH it looks aslot better than any other images I have put in this receiver

Mickha
17-07-2015, 11:00 PM
Press the Green button, on your remote, followed by the yellow button, and select Manually Install IPK package.
At least it's this way on Black Hole so should be similar on Open Black Hole.

I assume you found your receivers IP address and managed to connect using Filezilla. Then placed the CCcam230.ipk file into the tmp folder, in the bottom right hand pane.

echelon
17-07-2015, 11:06 PM
you need to copy and paste (transfer) the ipk file from left to right using VuCC and selecting filezilla , transfer into the tmp folder , var/tmp ; so from pc to var/tmp folder on the box

then press green (plugins) , and then yellow (addons)
then select MANUAL Install Ipk packges , 4th one down

select the ipk for cccam 2.30 and install it

Mickha/echelon

Yes yes yes I now have the Cccam 2.30 loaded
Please whats next

echelon
17-07-2015, 11:28 PM
ok , in filezilla (from VuCC) go back to the root directory (the start) on the right hand side (the duo)

click on var and then click on etc (drag the sidebars down if you dont see them) - for var its the bottom folder

find cccam.cfg in etc (again drag the bars down until you see the file)

now have your c line ready in notepad , copy the whole line into the pc memory - the clipboard
(highlight and press ctrl and c , or right click the dragged line and select COPY instead)

in filezilla , right click the cccam, cfg file and select view edit (select default editor if asked)

cccam.cfg will open and you will see writing

click the top left and press the return key, so it moves down 1 line

then use the up arrow to go back to top left and press ctrl and V (or right click and select paste)

the c line will now appear on that top line , now right click and save it
(or type it in manually and then right click and save it)
you can use file/save from the top menu to save it if you wish or if its easier to do

restart the box from main menu , shutdown , restart (reboot)

press blue , use left right arrows and select cccam 2.30 and press ok

try a scrambled channel , like sony movies or motors tv

Have you got it working supergab?
If you have any problems please post back, we all experienced problems, in the beginning, but trust me, once you've done this a few times, you'll get used to i,t and be able to do it all within a few minutes, including load a new image and your channel list.

supergab

No CHANCE getting it working

I must have reloaded the OpenBH about a dozen times can't get the hang of putting cline in

Every time I try to I muck the image up

To be honest I am have a job getting my head round FileZilla

Everything is easy if you know how to do it

echelon
18-07-2015, 03:05 PM
you can use DCC 1.50 instead

make sure you have the correct lan ip selected for the box , name is root, password is any password you have set , or none

it will say this once connected

Telnet Connected
FTP Connected
Enigma2 detected (Boxtype unknown)

now select ftp near the bottom left of the screen

your vu box will appear on the left hand side screen

double click var

double click etc

drag the bar down until you see cccam.cfg as a file

left click on it once so its in blue

then right click your mouse on it

click edit from the right mouse menu onscreen

the file will open and you will see stuff in there, with the cursor top left

press return key so it drops one line, leaving the top line free

copy (ctrl and c together) your complete c line from a notepad file or email or whatever you store it in

make sure the cursor is top left on the blank line of cccam.cfg and paste in your c line , using right mouse and paste , or ctrl and v together

now go to the top where it says file, click it and select save and exit

close any open boxes you had onscreen

restart the duo and then use blue and left and right arrows to select cccam v2.30 as the emu

test sony movies or motors tv

you should be using DCC E2 v1.50 from here

although I suppose the old E1 tool "may work"
