I doubt it can be done, as the android is bespoke and you can only install apps from the official sony site AFAIK (using the onboard menus)

Hi All,
New to this thread as just learning about Kodi.

i have just bought one of the new sony 'smart' TVs from costco and you can download any apps from the google play store, where Kodi is available. I have downloaded and installed TV Addons and it works reasonably well. From the main TV menu you select the app and it launched quickly, streams Ok for me but am still learning.

Would recommend but be aware sony are still releasing firmware for these TVs - one issue I have on exiting Kodi will sometimes freeze, can still move to watch TV but Kodi still running in background?
Chose the sony as its android option appeared mare users friendly than other makes.

Hope this helps. If anyone has any specific questing ask........

I'm a Plex user so the first thing I did was install this. Works a dream using wifi and audio output via the HDMI 4 (ARC) port. Slightly off topic I know but I mention it because Plex and Kodi have basically the same function as media streamers and the TV is more than capable.

I have also installed Kodi successfully but am working my way around it but it also looks good. although like richi1 I found Kodi to freeze but you could go back to the main menu.

Sony has promised full YouView support by Summer 15 in a firmware update. Nothing has materialised yet.
