Hi Guys

I am using a motorised Fracarro Penta 85 which as done a great job with my Spiderbox 6000hd. This is what i use for my day to day viewing, whereas the current Mrs Stumpyj uses the Sly for hers in the main sitting room.

I get a great arc from 30w - 23.5, but 28.2 is a satellite too far due to my neighbours trees. I use USALs which I'm keen to keep.

I feel that my neighbour has suffered enough and dont want to upset him by trimming his tree.

When I want to use 28.2 for the Spiderbox, I have to switch the cable over, which is a pain.

My question is, can I use a switch so that I can switch from the Penta to the Sly dish? I appreciate I would need to park the penta at 28.2 before switching to the sly.

Thanks

Stumpyj

the simplest method is to use a mechanical A-B switch

the 2 cables from each dish go into the switch on A or B and the COMMON goes to the box

A gives one dish
B gives the other dish

try a search with the following text

F Type Satellite Cable A-B Switch £5.79p with free p + p

a diseqc 2 way or 4 way switch can also be used for this with say A to the motor and B to the sly dish. then you setup the system in the satellite menu so it controls which input is selected using diseqc methods

lastly, a twin tuner box like a vu solo 2 could be used instead , where the motor is on input A and the sly dish on input B, the menus tell it which to use
