First you need to change the skin, to the default skin, to fix the bug, in Black Hole 2.1.7.
Press the green button, on your remote, followed by the yellow button, select the Addons manager option, then Black Hole Skins, scroll to the Default Skin, for BH 2.1.7, and load that.

Then it might have already kept the default skin, try going into the Menu, System, Setup and look for Hard Drive and the set up wizard option.

You will probably need to mount the drive first to media/hdd - using mount manager. I can't remember but I think it's under the blue button/extras or something like that. Then after it's mounted you'll be able to format it to ext3/4

Did you try the initialization option? has mrdude mentioned you might have to mount it first, but at least you know your SSD is recognized.

Can you please provide more information.
First the model number of your Samsung Hard Drive, or SSD, these are two different devices, HD is a Hard drive, SSD, is a Solid State Drive.
Next I think you should start from scratch, by backing up your channel list and installing Black Hole via a USB drive.
You can back up your channel list using dreamboxedit, download the last version:
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?170698-dreamboxEDIT-6-0-2-0/page2

Next you need to set up a new folder, on your PC desktop, and name it Settings.
Then find out your VU+ Duo 2 receivers IP address, go into Menu, Setup, System, Network, click on your connection, and Adapter Settings. Note down the IP Address.
Go back to your PC, start up dreamboxedit, click on Tools, and Options, then change the IP Address to your receivers IP Address, click Save, you also have the option of testing your IP connection.
Once you're sure it's working go to File and Fast FTP Download.
Once your receivers channel list has downloaded click the Save option.
When you have this done please post back with the information,

Did you re-load Black Hole, using a USB stick, after backing up your channel list?
If you did, and went for Black Hole 2.1.7, instead of an earlier version, did you change the skin to the default version?
You still haven't posted the model, of your Samsung SSD. Your receiver reports it has being external, have you got it fitted inside or connected to a USB port?

jag123

Have you since checked it, in the menu?
Try pressing the Blue Button, twice, select Devices manager, and press Red.
Then exit, and check hard drive settings.
Next go into the Menu, Setup, System, Hard Drive, Initialisation.

I think it's more to do with your poor English and lack of following the instructions given, rather than a bug in 2.17. But as long as you're sorted - that's the main thing.

cannydo

For future reference I had the same problem but with an external drive. I resolved it by loading TS Panel and formatting the drive via the Panel in my case to Ext4.

jag123

could explain how I do this

You have stated your box is now working why would you need this information? To start with Blackhole do not recommend TS Panel as many plugins do not agree with Blackhole images and may corrupt it and crash your box. I think in your case "it aint broken why fix it?" If needs must a full explanation will be given if required.

Sorry

could u give a full explanation and what image u are using

cannydo
21-10-2015, 05:25 PM
I am using Blackhole 2.1.7 with external 1TB thats besides the point your fixed? TS Panel plugin needs to be installed (you have to search for this and install) then go to "Tools 1" then "Device Manager" it's self explaining once there. But be warned do nothing else with TS Panel. My advice is you have it working just be happy at that.
