Just disable the openwebif plugin or use authentication in it. Someone opens it and try to stream from webif.

Reload the image.

Load a channel list.

No plugins.

Put on a FTA Channel to see if it works ok.

Delete the last plugin which you installed before the crashes started and restart gui.

frankly, I am not impressed with BH217 and would suggest you try BH216 or BH215 or openBH and then try running images in multiboot from a rear mounted usb stick

any crash logs will be on the root of the hdd directory structure, check using ftp

Agree with echelon here I'm not happy with BH217 it does not recognise my external Hard drive, also I get a bit of freezing on some channels I was hoping for a BH218

I have always been a fan of black hole images, but lately I have been trying out some of the others such as open pli, open ATV, open vix, Blackhole etc.

I have found that they all have their own pro's and con's. Blackhole is good because it has xbmc, but.....The open vix image is very good - it takes a little setting up to get it how you like it, but it's pretty solid and some things I have found work better, although it does have some flaws - it is well worth 'checking out'.

ok guys i think my box have a hardware malfunction cos as was advised by Rasp i installed BH 2.1.6 without any plugin and still have the crash to the extend that at standby the box wont turn on unless i reboot it from the back. i have called the shop (vuplus) and they have urged me to send the box in which i will do on monday. thanks guys for your always prompt responds.

Try a factory reset and try a vix image

You should remove ANY USB drives or hard drives that are plugged in first - then install a fresh image and check for errors - sometimes if your drive is failing it will cause your box to crash due to being unable to locate files that may have been installed on the drive being unreadable.
If your box still crashes once everything has been removed and has a fresh install - make sure there is enough ventilation around the box and it's not over-heating, if it still crashes - check your cables are all secure - and your plug is fully in the wall - and there are no loose wires such as the power supply is not correctly seated. If the box still crashes - it's most likely a hardware fault with the box.

thanks mrdude I took your advise and done all that was said above but the box still freezes what puzzle me is if i put the same cline in my spiderbox 9000hd it works floor-less. At every event change the box freezes when I have disable ''show infobar at event change'' so surely it had to do with the hardware. anyway since I bought the box in august I'm still within the year warranty. the store actually install the HDD so it will be ideal for them to have a look if its HDD causing all this issue. Lastly I have realised the picture doesn't look like when I first got the box it has become somehow yellowish as I have not tempered with the picture settings at all.

If your picture is yellowish - I would imagine either you have a dodgy scart cable - (I don't think this would happen with HDMI), or you have a fault with your tuner. As for picture freezing - why didn't you mention this before? does your box work OK on a FTA channel or just an encrypted channel?

no the freezing is across board being encrypted channel or FTA channel and definitely don't use scart as my tv doesn't have a scart port. So as you said it might be from the tuner.
