Now on 12129 V DVB-S QPSK 27500 2/3 NID 2 TID 2006 which is a UK spot transponder

As well as 11817 V DVB-S QPSK 27500 2/3 NID 2 TID 2006 which is a Europe spot transponder

Which could mean many ex pats may no longer be able to watch, if this move completes it could also mean that UK TV could be going FTA

But this is pure speculation at present

Seems difficult to imagine any other reason for doing this. What does this leave Channel 5 HD, Film 4 HD, TCM HD + Sky channels ?

If they do become FTA/FTV channels I would imagine it would be a big blow to You Know Who

Some services are still on a europe beam transponder 11523 H, so not a total loss for expats.

But great news about Yesterday, Drama and Really as any Freesat move also benefits us generic non-proprietary kit users.

They are going FTA.

UKTV is to make three of its most popular channels available free-to-air over Freesat.

The broadcaster is adding Yesterday, Drama and Really to the subscription-free service.

UKTV’s CEO Darren Childs said, “We work hard to secure platform deals that give more people our channels, and ultimately grow UKTV’s footprint. Freesat viewers will be able to watch gripping history shows on Yesterday, some of Britain’s finest, critically acclaimed drama content on Drama, and unbelievable real life stories on Really. As UKTV continues to invest heavily in new shows, there’s never been a better time to have access to our channels.”

The channels will launch on the service later this month.

1.2 M sorry I didnt mention but strong signal. Also for Channel 4 & +1 & More 4 & More 4 + 1 can be got if you have a basic subscription from the uk this is the irish flavor with irish ads. Has to be manually added to sky box (add channels) with data from Lyngsat etc

Thanks for info I use 1.2m for Astra 28e and 1.0 m for 907 and a 60cm for AFN on 9E which is good but AMC middle east 10E on the same dish biased to AMC middle east doesn't quite get AMC ME in cloudy weather. Just wondering if I can do a dish juggle to solve this ( all fixed ) in Southern Spain

@dave1234, I don't know what boxes you have but try a scan on the following 11523H 22000 5/6. It should come up with Dave, Dave ja vu, Gold, Xmas Gold +1, Home +1, Eden+1, Watch +1, Xmas Food +1, Alibi, Alibi +1, Yesterday +1 and Watch.
With regard to your other question, I am not sure, I can pull in 8.8 on the 1mtr motorised on AMC.

Hi NML thanks for the tunning tip. Question why doesn't the sky box pick up these channels automatically ? Is it possibly intended for southern Ireland

Maybe you would like to tell dave1234, what dish size you are using, as he is only using a 59cm dish, and he is also in southern spain.

Totally agree Aldo.

Dish size is one of the important factors when trying to lock fringe reception:cheers2:

My main fringe dish is a gibby125cm ( 125 X 135 ) central southern norway.

dave1234 said in his posts he was using a 1.2 dish for 28.2, 1 mtr for 27.5 West and the 60cm for 9 and 10 east not for 28.2 east. However here in Andalucia just to clarify all 28.2 east european beams are an easy catch on a 1 mtr dish.

Sorry Aldo will correct it. Using 1.8 Channel Master with quad 2db LNB and 1.8 centre fed using 1db single LNB.
Pick up channels (11523 h ) on both dishes at present.
Live in the South Murcia region.

Thanks for dish size but as I have managed to squeeze an ordinary cheap lmb in contact with main lmb for sky (using cable ties) on my 1.2m and got 26 e in with a v strong signal I am reluctant to change anything at the moment. Thanks to everybody for ideas
