I have a brand new zero, flashed with latest official BH image. No special plugins or anything unusual, just standard skin, catseye settings & picons. I have a 4gb Kingston data traveller USB stick in the back which was formatted & partitioned from within the BH GUI.

So I wanted to ftp to the box to install a softcam. I know I'm on the right local IP address as I can access it via the browser. I can telnet into it also no problem.

If I FTP to the box using cyberduck on OS X, I get the following dialogue:

"500 OOPS: vsftpd: not found: directory given in 'secure_chroot_dir':/var/share/empty
USER anonymous
500 OOPS:
"

I tried the login root with no password which works in telnet but not FTP, any ideas? Many thanks...

Tried to do a bookmark in cyberduck and ensured the FTP login details were saved before trying to connect & get this:

"500 OOPS: vsftpd: not found: directory given in 'secure_chroot_dir':/var/share/empty
FEAT
500 OOPS:
"

What am I missing? I have a Solo2 & a Duo2 in my house & can access without issue, no stranger to Vu boxes! Thanks...

I have on occasions had problems with DCC and VUCC after installing plugins in my SoloSE. I found I couldn't FTP with either of them using correct IP and user name and password there was no solution found for this issue. I also found it easier and quicker to make a backup personal settings and reflash the box this was the ONLY solution to resolve the issue. Perhaps this is the same for you as you are sure of the IP and username password.

Good Luck
