Which patch to install

Hi All

Just got a new HD6000 from Lee at GW and looking to patch it and in system info it says Date ..April 15th 2015

From what I've read on here only boxes from July 2015 use the MSCAM patch so can somebody confirm I need to patch it with the IKS patch

Many thanks for that and it was what I thought originally but having read somewhere that spiderboxes from July 2015 wanted the MsCam patch it made me ask the question

It would depend upon whether the OP is going to use IKS or MSCAM, which patch he uses, as stated by blackdevil in this thread:

Now that has thrown confusion into the ring as I thought it depended as mentioned what date was on the box ie April 15th 2015...so still very confused as to which one will be right and which one won't

as its a new box then use the MSCAM patch for the "gift"

there is no IKS included for new boxes which came out in july 2015 and onwards

in MY opinion, aldo has muddied the waters and has ignored the fact that your box is one of the new batch supplied by goldwafers

your NEW box has the test firmware on it until you patch it, if you use the MSCAM patch you will get the "gift" for one year after its activated, whereas with the IKS patch you wont get any "GIFT" whatsoever, so its a no-brainer

its unlikely that you are an IKS user, in which case you ignore the IKS patch

Can anyone confirm if I could change my patch from IKS to Mscam on an older spider 6000, it seems like I could just want to make sure, thanks for any thoughts.

I dont think it matters if your IKS has expired as it means that part is irrelevant anyway

so in all other respects, I think they are the same, the only difference being that if you had a valid IKS sub then use the IKS patch, otherwise it wont matter as you will have turned off IKS or mscam anyway, no matter which you use

my older spiderbox had the IKS gift which has expired and i did not renew it, so i can load the new mscam patch on it ok
i assume if i then load my saved channel list i will not need to set my diseq motor settings again?
