Hello all, I have been using an Icecrypt 1600 for about a year on Intelsat 907 but have seen models (3500,3550,6000) that say "recording of three channels simultaneously while watching two others (PIP)" is this possible ?

Yes it is possible with the following limitations
Single tuner models, only if the channels being recorded are from the same transponder.
Dual tuner models with twin lnb feeds, no limitations.
Dual tuner models with single lnb feeds and loop through link have some limitations but not sure what.
I have a stc 6000

Using a dual tuner with single LNB looped through - the limitations are the same as recording one channel whilst watching another. (Same on any sat receiver) - The channel has to be the same polarity and same band (high or low)

Hello all and thanks, I only want to watch Intelsat 907, all channels are on the same transponder. Am I correct in thinking that the software in the receiver also has to allow it because my Icecrypt 1600 will record one channel whilst watching another but no more, it does say in the spec for the models I mentioned above that 3 channels can be recorded simultaneously

Hi,
I have just tested the 1600.
I recorded 2 channels at the same time from one transponder.
Make sure that the disk drive connected has the write speed fast enough for this. (Go to "USB", "USB speed test" to confirm)
I tried recording 3 channels, but get an error message "error more than 2 record channels"
Good luck
