Hi all,

Apologies if this has been raised on a previous thread, I could not find a post that covered our issue. We have recently moved into a new house and only have a double sky cable with a dish downstairs (no TV aerial connection) and are trying to get our heads around gaining freesat (as we have always been a TV aerial/freeview user). After a crash course on satellite via google we bought the icecrypt S1600 box.

We were trying to set up our new box last night and it seems to register all the new channels when configuring, but when the configuration is complete and we go to watch a channel we are receiving a 'no signal' error message and no picture for all channels. We did both an auto configuration and then tried the satellite configuration and still cannot get anything. The strange thing with the satellite configuration screen is we are selecting the Astra 2 satellite (the one we want to connect to), and it is available from the drop down and displays what we understand to have the best signal (these are the two bars - green and yellow - at the bottom of the screen, right?) . We select the Astra satellite and then leave the screen/page, however when returning to the same page/screen the satellite settings have appear to have been reset to the Hotbird satellite despite there being a very weak signal for this satellite. We assume the system is not actually selecting this satellite, and this is simply just resetting to the first option available on the list. We believe the previous owners of the property had Sky and therefore the dish is positioned correctly for Astra 2.

The issue may be glaringly obvious, but being complete satellite novices we are stumped and really frustrated atm! If anyone is able to help it would be greatly appreciated - preferably in layman's terms as we are completely newbies to this. Many thanks, Ria.

Have you FTP downloaded the Sky Channel list directly form the Icecrypt web site. It is simple to do - select FTA channels only and it should work. No real need to do much if any configuring.
