Did you follow these instructions/procedures to the letter using the correct connection cables?

After seeing skomedal's post I realised that it was the recovery tool that the OP was referring to.

I have the same problem and have not been able to sort it out. i am sure that i am doing something wrong.

So I am using the correct cable (null modem) which i have used for other boxes I have had.
I am using a lap top with windows xp.
I do get hyperterminal going (I think) and when i press space bar it says it is connected.
I have unzipped the file "navi_s_326su.flash.gz.gro.stp" and left it on my desktop.

I think this is not right?

Can some one please show me how to do it step by step.
I am not very familiar with certain IT systems.
I would appreciate any advice and thanks in advance.
(I have tried to follow all instructions but I must be doing some thing wrong somewhere along the procedure)

@vamas
Have you also looked through the 6 links at the bottom of the Recovery instruction link? one of them is a video file.

seems correct to me , that is what the instructions say, as they ask you to select the unpacked file

here is the instruction from the pdf, section 8 (which also has pictures as well)

8. Set protocol Xmodem and select “navi_s_326su.flash.gz.gro.s tp” and press Send button

you will have to browse and select it though, it doesnt find it automatically, so manual selection is essential

the "step by step" you ask for is that pdf file, so read it in adobe reader

@jbvid - thanks for your comment but regret to tell you that the video does not seem to be working.

@ echelon - thanks for your message. i did get to the bit were I had to browse for the file but the unzipped file did not show up in this list. I cold not understand why.
i am away from home for a few of days, so i will try again when i am back and let you know. Just for your info, all went of when i was deleting a sat, 28.2, as now we do nor get many worthwhile channels on it as they have moved to the UK beam.

if you look at the example its on drive d in a data folder , this is the method I would choose, not the desktop

so I would put the tool and the unpacked file in the same folder , say c drive , temp , which is c:\temp

I would unpack them using 7zip , telling 7zip where to put them

put all the files into this temp folder on c drive, then unpack the zipped or rared up files into this same folder, so packed and unpacked files are all safely in one place

then start the tool from this storage folder and browse to the same folder if it does not start there by default

make sure what you are doing matches the pdf basic instructions, the step by step guide you asked for which already exists in the files

as for the video, that appears to have been removed by the person who posted it , probably spite

I am just trying to get this done. I am on the stage to select 2nd option from the 3 -' upgrade application with Xmodem'. How do I do this ? 9I think I am missing something here)
I have tried by sending file to file name and doing Xmoden as Protocol but when I do send the last picture comes out showing file but does not start sending to stb till it says No response from remote system. What am i doing wrong? I am now getting tiered of trying...... thanks for you attention

correct, it tells you that in the pdf walk through

7. Select “2. Upgrade Application with Xmodem”

so its either press the number 1 , press the number 2 (as in this case) or press the number 3

because you have 3 options on the screen and you select by pressing one number out of the 3 selection numbers shown

it could not be easier

its like when you phone your bank and you get an automated message

press 1 for existing accounts

press 2 for new accounts

press 3 for loans

press 4 for mortgages

press 5 to speak to a customer service advisor
