View Full Version : Hispasat-no signal on strong transponders

just had by dish checked by the engineer, all the sats i use have a decent signal but i cannot get a "dicky" from Hispasat 30 west
tried transponders Hispasat-1E @ 30 west 12092 V 27500 Cubavision and10730 H
any advice i have tried tweaking the dish east & west

Surely any decent installer would have set your dish up to zero or 0.8 West and then set you East & West Limits, ie 42 East and 30 West would be the most common.

I have noticed in the past that my dish has to be smack on the heading to get Hispasat everytime.
If not it depends whether you are moving to it from > 30deg, or < 30deg due to play in the gearing

Just as matter of interest, what is your location please mate?

Could be a tree or a building blocking the signal. You could send the dish round to 30°w and look for any obvious obstruction. The dish doesn't face exactly 30°w at that position, but it gives you an idea if anything is in the way.

But a very basic check for any professional installer.

You had the same problem in november last year, did the transponder mentioned in that thread fix the problem, as I cannot see you have tried that Tp in post #1.

According to william-1 latest list, Strongest TP's for Hispasat are as follows:

Hispasat-1D @ 30 west 11529 V 10000 S2 9/10 TaroTVision
Hispasat-1E @ 30 west 12092 V 27500 Cubavision

thanks was it tony the wise man u had out to check your dish if not give him a call top man but not cheap if you need his number send me a pm

mentioned the 30 west problem to engineer but he was raving on about the ZGemma receiver and doing other jobs i didn't need done so he wnt be back, we did get an upstairs extension done but its 30 yards away from the dish would that effect the lack of signal
