Hello again, i recently posted about my 2nd tuner not working and got many helpful tips. I reflashed my box with the latest image from B.H but it made no difference unfortunately. However I did find it very difficult to transfer files from my computer to the Solo2. When I have used any of the transfer programs they ALL either hang or stop working.
I have eventually got the files transferred so get the box up and running again but after every command I had to stop the program Vucc and Filezilla, same with Dbcc.
Now I cannot get my old program list ( cats eye ) to send the box.
The only way to get channels is to do a scan, but it comes up alphabetically and I do not know how to sort them with the remote as there are no numbers associated with the channels.
I initially thought the cable was faulty from comp to box but what changed it was the same. Its strange because I can send files from the box to my computer. :o15:

I think the stb must be on the way out as the 2nd tuner will not work and it is struggling to accept other files and refuses to accept channel info.

Any help or advice would be very welcome.

Is this the image you used Black Hole 3.0.1.F Vu+ Solo2 OE 3? How old is the box? Did it work ok from the outset? You say a motorised dish with a twin feed! Is this a dual lnb? How did you configure the 2 tuners??

The fact of the matter the tuner could be kaput, flashing a new image wont make a difference. What files are you transferring?

And are you using a laptop or pc? what windows version?

What you need to try is a backup image that will be working and have what you need. I use TSPANEL to download all the stuff I need.

Hi gbmitie, I am using the latest image 3.0.1F VU Solo2 oe3, the box is 3 years old and has worked OK until the last image 2.7.0 lost eh 2nd tuner, thats why I upgraded to the new image. The system is a motorised one with dual feed LNB and I have tried every conceivable configuration ( that I know of, even changing feed 1 for 2 ) however if I chose no LNB for A and configure B the tuner will work, thats why I thought it was an image problem initially. The files I had difficulty sending were the CCcam.cfg and installing CCcam214 and 221 which made me think there was a problem with the box, this was compounded later when I could not instal the cats eyes program guide, which is still not possible. I update files from a P.C with win7 and its never been a problem until now.
Where can I get a backup image with it all on? Did not know there was one available, I'll look into TSPANEL, any info greatly received and thanks for taking an interest. :)

there are various images in the images forums (firmware forums) here on pimps , including BH

I would install openBH onto it , ignore cccam 214 and use cccam v2.30 only plus mgcamd 1.38 and oscam as well

we have an ipk by dumnonia for cccam v2.30 for BH here on pimps, use that one

use flash fxp or DCC or VuCC to password the image in the flash and then dreamset to load the catseye settings list

then check each tuner separately on a fixed 28.2e feed

TSPANEL is not required

use a usb stick of 16gb or so in the back and format and mount it from within the flash image itself etc

use this for picons and your epg data storage and for the MULTIBOOT images too

you can also use this for multiboot and add openvix , BH 215 and OPENPLI images , FOR TESTING PURPOSES

Hi echelon, thank you for the help and advice, as you can see it seems the problem has not been resolved from my previous post but a new fault has emerged concerning sending files to the box. I will try your advice next week when I am off work and report back. I now have a great number of options to try and resolve the problem.
Thanks again and have a great weekend. :)

Ok I installed the new image kindly suggested by gbmitie and got it working. However the initial hdd recording issue is still present, but I can record two fta programs at the same time but nothing else. Also if I disable one input or lnb I can still get a program on either one, ie a and b inputs produce a picture. So I think the stb is ok but there is a setting that needs corrected. If anyone knows what this could be or has had this problem before I would love to know how it was solved.

I noted there was a settings window appeared near the bottom of the screen with a triangle in the top left corner and a status bar showing full length with the number 60 at the right hand side. This oblong box appears after every command button is pressed, cannot find a way to get rid of it. Any ideas please?

only use cccam v2.30 , or oscam, or mgcamd v1.38 for dual recording or watching and recording SCRAMBLED channels

ie:- if it works on 2 different fta channels , then try cccam v2.30 for non-fta channels, no 214 or 221

this problem and solution have been mentioned numerous times on these forums

dual recording needs cccam v2.30 , or oscam

Many thanks for the reply echelon, I did install CCcam 2.30 as you suggested but has not cured the problem, however it only came to light about 3-4 months ago when I was using the 2.1.7 B.H image and my HDD failed, it had been working no problems until then. My fault for not researching the problem enough but I was under the impression the 2.30 cam had a bug in it when it first came out so never used it until now. Also I have never used oscam or mgcamd v1.38 in the past but will give them a try as you suggest.
Thanks again for taking time to help, its much appreciated. :)

With the later Blackhole images, including 2.1.7, you cannot record one encrypted channel, and view another, using early CCcam versions, unless they are on the same transponder, only with the later CCcam 2.30.

You can record FTA channels, and view other channels, which is the problem you seem to be experiencing.
Try installing, and selecting, CCcam 230 again, of course you will have to update the CCcam.cfg file, to add your details, again.

@Mickha, many thanks for pointing that out, I never noticed if the two channels were on the same transponder. When two channels were recording the channel select screen would be greyed out instead of white letters. Also there would be a message come up sometimes stating switched to whatever channel to enable recording.
Many thanks again have downloaded the CCcam 2.30 from the link and will experiment with it. :)

the solo 2 has 2 inputs so each tuner needs setting up separately , choosing the correct setting

ideally it wants separate coax cables from the lnb, so from a twin or quad or octo, or 2 different sources

that way one channel can be viewed and any another channel recorded, or 2 different channels can be recorded

if its a single coax feed the 2 channels have to be on the same transponder

my point earlier is what mickha has told you , that only cccam v2.30 allows you to watch one scrambled channel and record another scrambled channel, not the earlier cccam,s , in newer images, which is why we keep banging on about it

or you use oscam or possibly try mgcamd in order to "fix" that particular "bug"

so please dont tell us that you cannot watch one scrambled channel and record another scrambled channel if you are using cccam 214 or 221 because "we know", its a bug , the later 2.30 must be used, or an alternative emu that does not have this "bug"

the better the info you give us, the easier it is to pinpoint your problem , but with a twin tuner box you should NOT be using cccam v2.14 or 2.21 , not if you want it to work properly, so we tell you these things for a reason , the old ways are not always the best ways

plus you should be using 2 separate feeds down 2 different coax canbles from the lnb or lnb,s, with each tuner setup correctly

Thank you to echelon, mickha and gbmitie, I followed your advice and have got the twin tuners working by use of the cccam v2.3.0. My problem is once I get the box working I try not to touch it until it needs it so do not have a great deal of experience tinkering with it. Please do not think I was trying to contradict anyone with my experiance, I was not, I do not know enough to presume that, I only tried to relay as best I could what I thought the problem was. I was obviously mistaken but with all your help my problem has been solved, I just wish I could thank you all personally and buy you a drink to show my appreciation. :)

One final question to ask about, now I have the new image up and running I seem to have to do a file check every time I want to record something to the HDD. I have wiped it and initialised it twice now but when I switch everything off at night next day I have to either do a file check on the drive which finds it or initialise it which wipes the drive of course. I believe I must have not checked something somewhere but so far have not been able to discover what.
Any advice will be most appreciated, and sorry for bothering you guy's again so soon. :)

it should be mounted and formatted from the image itself

if this has been done , maybe the drive is faulty ? so try a different drive ?
