Hi all
I am currently debating on getting a techno mate Linux based box, but am unsure which one is best and once I get one which image to use.
I currently have an eagle (dream box clone) and a spider box 6000. Basically looking for something with dual tuner and internal hard drive. At the mo the nano se combo looks quite decent
Any suggestions??
Any help greatly appreciated
If you're looking for a decent Linux box then you should be looking at Vu+ receivers not TM.
Vu+ Solo2
Vu+ Solo 4K
Vu+ Duo2
The above three are twin tuners and take internal HDD.

I use a VU solo 2 with internal 2.5 inch sata hdd at 1Tb and can confirm all the above, plus its well supported too

If you want to get a cheap VU+ box, you could get a VU+ zero, and use an external 2.5" usb drive to record onto (also make a swap file and install picons and things). This works great as I have done this myself for a couple of friends that didn't want to fork out lots of money.
You can also add a usb tuner to it if you needed that extra tuner, a list of compatible tuners are here:

Obviously you need to do a bit of reading yourself as nobody here is going to spoon feed you - but we can give you some tips for you to make your own decisions.

There will be new guys starting out wanting to buy and ask a lot of questions , and to me the spoon feed comment be-little's them , even when its posted to a highly regarded member to another .

Haha, you must get wound up quite a bit as I see this phrase daily on many, many websites/forums.
I think most people just get sick of answering the same thing over and over and over again - especially since there are about a billion posts already with the same info. I can't remember the last time I wanted to hack something - that I didn't spend a good bit of time on google first, however you are correct some people just need that extra bit of help (and spoon fed - lol).

Thanks all for the advice, and understand that best way to find things out is to read on the forums, sometimes though a little difficult to see the wood for the trees.

just to update on this, my missus bought me a TM nano se plus for my birthday ( which I think is new to market) so have been having a play around and enigma2 is great. However have definitely taken the advice on the vu+ and I want one!! have enough use for both boxes.
