The newest firmware for Samsung ES 8000 TV

Hi,

Wireless is playing up on my tv. While other wi-fi devices work great, TV can not pick up the DNS for some reason. I was thinking of installing a new firmware. What is the newest firmware for Samsung ES8000 TV ?

Have you checked in the menu to see if there is an update facility in it? this would be the safest way, as,
loading a wrong firmware, could cause untold havoc. First I would suggest turning off the TV and also your router,
at the mains, leave it for a few minutes, then plug the router back in and leave for about 5 minutes for it to settle,
then switch the TV back on and it should pick it up.

I can't update via internet, no working wi fi. I have tried all that mate to no avail.

Have you thought about connecting via home-plugs?

I have one and it updates via my cat5 connection.
At the moment it shows Current Version 002020.
Not much goes on in any update, apart from SKYPE being removed some time in June this year.

I have that firmware version but wi fi started playing up since February not picking up dans or anything but lists wireless networks/ :(

Just a quick thought. Does your router limit the number of connections on wifi? Can you turn off DHCP and force a static IP for the TV?

I don't have your model of TV, I have the Samsung J5600 and that upgraded just fine a couple of weeks ago. Had to go through menus to make it search though.
