Hoping maybe we'll get a version 970 (latest) Tomtom for UK & ROI androids version very soon as previously please?
Plus, will Tomtom GO, already installed, automatically update from 965 to 970 in options?
Thanks you.:)

When it is available from Tomtom you will get a map upgrade notification on your phone, if you remember - after you added this tomtom app you got your current map directly from tomtom :)

Thanks Russell1, but I hadn't realised I would get the notification on the 'GO' already on my phone so now looking out mate!
Any chance of the android version 970 when it becomes available though, like the ones you used to post too please?

Yes there is - I replied to your question on gpspower @ 5 days ago - the map was already posted on there before you asked.
Not my links and not tested - I've just copied from gpspower

PS: Tried it on my Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and 'unable to connect to internet' message appears, after apparently good installation again, exactly as occurred with previous version 965!
Flipping heck!!

Program appears to install ok for ME, but when I try to open it it states 'unable to connect to internet' - even though as echelon always reminds me the internet is not used in Tomtom!!
PS: Have read elsewhere that Galaxy S6 may NOT be compatible with android Tomtom, but again this is not set in stone!! lol!!

Deffo used to install and work ok on versions 955 and earlier on ALL galaxies & tabs/Notes - but no longer so the source MUST have changed something to prevent it working as before!
Just tried installing on old Galaxy S3 Mini, installs ok, but still getting 'no network connection'!
Well before 955 this also deffo worked!!
Oh dear!

I remember on other versions of TomTom a good while back when people had trouble installing the program ,it was because the folders and especially the maps had to be on the root drive .ie it gave the "no internet connection" if the maps were on the sd card .Must be totally different now.

Absolutely mate, I've tried ALL methods, including root of phone AND via SD card, all to no success, so SURELY the people producing these latest files should be aware of them not working by now?

I guess I'll have to download 970 map and install it manually again.

Be interested in how you get on mate - and if successful EXACTLY how you did it too!! lol!

I'll download the map from elsewhere, and the 970 download above and have a look what's going on. From the message you get, I would say it's behaving as though the map isn't properly activated.
I might be a few days with this, I've a lot on at the moment... if it works okay, I'll do a step-by-step. In the meantime, go back to 955 map and make sure yours is working again.

Cheers mate, look forward to hearing from you!
I actually downloaded 'Fastactivate' to my pc and then put it on my phone memory - as with the TT apks - and my S6 Edge Plus told me 'there is no prog on this phone to open this kind of file'!

No, you have to run fastactivate ON THE PC, but I've found that it works more reliably if you put it on the SD card and run it from there.
Connect your phone to the PC, navigate windows explorer to the phone's SD card, then put fastactivate on the root of the SD card and double click on it ON THE PC. It should see the tomtom folder on the SD card and you should be able to activate with the relevant option on the menu.

Can't use an SD card on S6 Edge Plus mate as it doesn't take one! So maybe can connect phone to pc via USB and somehow fastactivate to phone memory from there?

Well, you can run fastactivate on the PC... it should work from there and activate the map on the device, but I have found this a bit hit and miss in the past.
Anyway... I downloaded the v970 apk+map from the above link. I couldn't see anything wrong, the activation files are in the map, so I tried to use the map from this download.
All I did was delete the old com.tomtom.ukireland folder from the tomtom folder and replace it with the com.tomtom.ukireland folder from the download. Restarted the phone, and it all seems to work, now showing v970.7466 map on the about page?
So, as far as I can see, the map on the download IS correctly activated. Not sure if this is going to help or not, all I can suggest is load up the working v955 apk, and then do what I did - replace the complete com.tomtom.ukireland folder with the one from the v970 download as above.

Just noticed a problem with this v970 map, the postcode file is missing again, so only the first half of the postcodes are recognised.
What I did last time was copy the old postal_GBR.ttd file from the tomtom/com.tomtom.ukireland/files/United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ir eland folder to the new one, should work again.
Not sure if there's a better solution.
EDIT:
Yes there is.
Download the latest postcodes files from tomtom, extract the .cab file, then rename the great_britain.postal file as postal_GBR.ttd and put in the map folder.
Unfortunately, the 970 postcode files aren't out yet, so 965 will have to do.
