this is how i set up kodi on my mygica box
factory reset...when done it will reboot, now it will go black and put on 15 app shortcuts
when this is done,a welcome screen will appear...click next...now select language...
next i choose ethernet...then set time and date...then display..then i select other...more settings ...in there i select sound
as default it comes in low
now i open kodi...it says first run,it goes blank then opens up kodi
kodi is empty...so now i select,system..appearance..then screensaver,it comes in default as dim,i change to none
now i go system...file manager...add scource...here i use tvaddons...config wizard
now i go system...settings...addons...inst all from zip file...fusion...if you are using wookie etc..you unzip that
unzip your choice..in mycase its fusion...then select start here...then select..plugin video hubwizard
at bottom of screen will now appear config wizard
now come out of that and select programs...program addons...config wizard..now if using mygica box or any android...select android
a box will appear ...team tvaddons...asking if you want tvaddons to customise your addon selection...i select yes
now it will download...time depends on your internet speed...once its finished.....you will now have exodus phoenix etc installed
now i close kodi..reopen kodi...and now all should update automatically
now i select a package...ie phoenix...i click on one to watch...once it starts i next do this...i press the ok button on my remote to bring up stop start..etc at bottom of screen..i now select what looks like a reel of film...i click this and now select view mode...i select 16.9...now i scroll down and select set as default for all media
then i go to volume..click that and turn volume amplification up to 15...your choice to suit your tv...i turn off subtitles...and then select..set as default for all media
thats it...now you have kodi..with tvaddons/fusion...installed perfectly

i do know from personal experience...that some apps...ie phoenix
if not fully updated after install...do lag...or show no channels etc...
thats why after a new install...before i click on anything...i reboot box...
this seems to kick in the updates faster
but like you say...you seem sorted now...so its all good
