cant make my mind up I don't use half the things in the blackhole duo2 latest image any sugestions please on the mater I was thinking of just using the pli image

I've used PLi in the past and it's been very good but it's become a bit antiquated
It's rumored that PLi v5 will be released in July and I will most certainly be giving it a try when it does
For now though OpenATV 5.3 is my image of choice

It will be up to date with fixes and enhancements but until it's released I couldn't possibly say.

if I used the open pli image on my duo2 how long should the image last because there make images every night should it be ok for just watching tv on a daily bases

Yes It will be fine for watching TV,
it will last until they release PLi5 ,when you will probably have to re-flash the new image depending on what changes they finally make,
as for the nightly builds you can update your duo2 using the software update feature inside the image, no need to re-flash, just restart

All these 'groups' images are unofficial, as they are not the genuine VU+ Image which comes with the box
therefore there could be a risk involved in flashing one of these images be it PLi, BlackHole, ATV, VIX...........etc
but they are just covering themselves so you cant say that their software bricked your box
normally if something was to go wrong it can be overcome and sorted so I wouldn't worry too much about that ;)

I would say though that you should only use official group images and not hacked or backup versions
and NEVER put a clone image on your Genuine VU box

iv decided to use the open blackhole image it up and running seems a good image chanel change is faster to oll stick with this image I think
