new receiver facory resets/new MSCAM patch?

just bought a new receiver for the spare room

Is it best to factory reset before & after patch on this new receiver ?
just read on the forum spiderbox it says from july 2015 onwards to use the MSCAM patch, there is a new one out yesterday 16th August is this the one i need to use, or the old patch dated 19th October 2015?

Just use the latest patch which is here:

It is not necessary to do do a system restore, as the receiver reboots itself after you install the latest patch.
