Just bought a 9000HD from a well known ******* site- supposedly described as "fully working" however on trying to access the installation menu for the satellite search/manual setup/disecq switch/factory reset this requires access via a 4 digit pin I can only input 3 digits the fourth does not register in the pin number box- I am assuming the full pin is 0000.
Have I been sold a faulty box?? I am assuming I have. :(

yes understood but if you load fresh software it may give you access to the menu you need and clear the pin issue also i'm not sure if you can set a 3 digit pin on the receiver instead of the factory 0000 but probably not you could ask the seller for the pin

Have already asked the seller he is telling me it is 0000!
The receiver refuses to accept the 4th 0 of the pin
will try to load new software
I have made a backup of the old settings on a usb stick

yes some very dishonest people about the receiver is not fit for purpose if you bought it as fully working you could send it back and buy a new 6000hd
