My Icecrypt S4000HDPVR running on Octagon firmware isn't starting up.

It's been disconnected for a week or two and now it's stuck on the on/off switch staying on Blue light and nothing on display panel.

I've tried the Flash Boot/Cleaner but nothing happens

Any help is appreciated

Many thanks

Sounds like you need to use Porter Express from a PC using a Null Modem cable to:
1. Use the Flash Cleaner
2. Load the latest Firmware.
You should find the information/software in the ICECRYPT section.
Good luck

I've tried using Porter Express but it's stuck on "Waiting for request, Set Top box"

I've connected pc com port to back of receive and followed instructions but nothing.

I have also tried the Update Loader

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Make sure the receiver is powered off completely.
Set up Porter Express etc with the Flash cleaner for the s 4000.
When it reads "Waiting for...." then power on the receiver.
Hopefully it will then start. Repeat to load the Firmware.
Good luck.

Thanks for your reply but I did exactly as you have said and stays on waiting for... and 0%
If COM1 port appears in Device Manager -> Ports, does this mean it's working ok?

Porter Express should read:

Mode : Software
To Receiver
Com port 1

I wonder if the Octagon loader is different from the Icecrypt loader.
I will have to dig around to remember how to change the loader.

Go into ICECRYPT: Tools and editors.
Find file a New bootloader for s4000 and try with Porter Express
b S4000 Bootloader

The second file should enable you to change resellers ie from Octagon to Icecrypt.
Good luck

I cannot think of what else to try.
Perhaps ColdAsIce has a solution?
