Hi, I'm looking for a top quality combo satellite/terrestrial receiver. Evaluated Technomate TM6902 but it is discontinued. I don't like common linux boxes like Vu+ or similar (they are too complicated to use), but what about Icecrypt STC6000PVR? One dealer told me that its firmware would be a "closed" linux, easier and easier to use compared to other linux boxes...... I don't know. Could you please explain better? Also, what about different firmware including emus, clines, biss.... and so on? Any advice about this box is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have been using the ICECRYPT S6000 now for some years and have been pleased with it.
The box is set up with two sat tuners using DiSeqc switches on two satellites (28e and 27.5w)
The Plugins will support biss and clines amongst others.
It has 7 day EPG on 28e together with recording from EPG.
There is all the usual channel editing.
The firmware also supports Unicable but which LNB I do not know.
The firmware is quite comprehensive but not difficult to navigate.
Hope this helps.

The 6000 is a good machine and can decode BISS when the add-ons are installed. (see the section under Icecrypt add-ons).
The only problem I have found is that when trying to do a blind or manual scan is that it will say "no channels found" (even though showing good signal and quality) - easily fixed by deleting any previously loaded channels with the same freq/sym rate).
Easy channel editor from PC.

Hi, thank you to both for your replies. Nice to know that all our "games" are available for this receiver, so I just made a step forward. As I said, I know easy operation in TM boxes and complex operation in Vu+ or similar. In which position is Icecrypt? For example, in Vu+ I must use PC, FTP, permissions..... menus, submenus..... and in many cases I must manually edit specific files before loading it in right folders..... and so on. This is the situation that I absolutely don't want. The only computer usage must be in setting editing, like I made with my Technomate. All the other operation must be done directly from the box remote control. Could you please explain better this? Also, I understand about plugins and addons, but are these addons added to original firmware or must I search and install any unofficial one? Thank you very much, your advices are very appreciated.
