I have a VU+Duo2, Open Blackhole v0.1, Astra 28.2e,
2 x DVB-S2 & 1 x DVB-T

I have a lot of music on my PC, about 3gb of it, which I’d love to be able to listen to when I’m away from home. I don’t want to store music on my phone or PC anymore.

I can remotely stream (transcode) movies via openwebif (ports 80, 8001 & 8002 are open)

Ideally I’d like to store the music, securely, on the VU+Duo2 somewhere.
Would VLC android app be able to do what I want or what else would you suggest.
Any other ports need opening ??
Can anyone help / advise me to set this up ??

This is probably not what you want to hear - but If I was you I wouldn't forward ANY ports to my box that can be accesses via the internet. These STB's/Most images, are very easy to hack into (no matter what password you use) and upload files to or delete files and also download files - and you wouldn't know until it's too late. If you want to stream music - buy a NAS or use an old laptop/computer and install some NAS software on it (Xpenology is quite good).

Thanks mrdude

No, I would say better to hear sound advice and go with it, rather than taking a huge risk.

I'll get a nas a connect it to my netgear d7000, this has negear's Readyshare for internal / remote access.
