has xtrend been taken over, by who and when was the xt10000hd discont

I heard someplace that xtrend have been taken over but I dont know by who or when it happened. I ask as I was told the xt10000hd has component out and that would help me greatly but that box is now very rare and someone said it was even discontinued, is this the case?

is/was the xtrend 10000hd any good?
