No, never had this myself, when you say 'loose controls', do you mean they are not there anymore or they need re-adjusting? if so re-adjust, in the latest software.

Just looked at mine, as you say no settings anymore for contrast and brightness, adjust it on your TV.

thanks jbvid but with no contrast on box does still give a washed out picture
