Hi All,

Looking to buy a solo 4k to view Wimbledon this
year (2017).

To do that need two HDR upgrades One for my UHD TV
and one for Solo.

Is the HDR in the Solo 4k, HDMI 2.0a HDR10.
If Yes, will need to find out if VU+ have any Updates
in mind, like ( HDMI 2.0b HLG HDR for TV broadcast )
Or ( HDMI 2.1 for HDR10+ ) as that's what Samsung
Are calling the HDMI 2.1 Dynamic metadata signal.

The new 2.1 HDMI specification was announced by
the ( HDMI FORUM ) on 4th Jan 2017.

HDMI 2.1 is backwardly compatible with
( HDMI 2.0b HLG HDR ) and the older
( HDMI 2.0a HDR10 )
2.1 HDMI just needs a Firmware update for
any UHD 2.0 HDMI socketed TV.
You need a new HDMI cable though, more Bandwidth.
2.1 HDMI goes from 4k up to 8K.

Thanks BF.

The HDR drivers work perfectly fine on the Solo 4K and display HDR material correctly from an external source, But once again seeing as Broadcast satellite will use the HLG standard, So Unless both the solo 4K and your TV support HLG you wont be watching it

Hi All.

Why is it like drawing eye teeth out
of the UHD TV and STBox manufacturers,
too weather or when we ALL will receive
a HLG HDR update.

ALL HDMI 2.0 TVs are compatible with
the new HDMI standards of 2.0a, 2.0b
and the new (4 Jan 17) 2.1 HDMI.
We just need a FIRMWARE UPGRADE.

@harddriver, What LG model have you.

Within a few months (BBC 4k HLG) start
Wimbledon TV broadcast on 28e.
Followed by every other Sat Transmitting
HLG 4k, for TV broadcast.

12 Jan 2017, Samsung will update 2016 TV
with HLG (HDR for TV broadcast).

11 Jan 2017 LG incoming HDR HLG
update to TV 2016.

7 Jan 2017, Sony will update TV XD93 with
HLG ( HDR for TV broadcasts).

6 Jan 2017, JVC new projectors will have
HDR10, HLG and HDR (?).

12 Dec 2016, The HDMI will change to
also accept the HDR HLG.
Will serve an update to the TV.

Thanks BF.

Hi All,

@harddriver, Has your TV a (HDMI 2.0) socket
if it has, you can update to HDR.

Need a (HDR HLG) update for my Hisense Xt910.

Been on 13e 19e 28e and only one 4k HDR channel
opened (HDR), that was (travelXP 4K) on 13e.
No luck with the rest.
The TV auto enabled (HDR) on 13e.
Internal 4K Sat Tuner.

19e (HLG Test Stream) 2160p looked
good even without (HDR HLG).

19e (Dolby Labs test stream) 2160p was
very Impressive, anyone with an LG will
be pleased.

13e Fashion 4k preview is in 1080i, its
Fashion 4K that's in 2160p.

28e, Best demo is (Astra UHD demo) even without
HDR looked MINT.

Thanks BF.
