kodi stops working

HELP please when i go onto kodi on laptop and try to get a film on it gets providers no probs but as soon as i click on 1 kodi stops working trired this on loads of addons but still the same tried removing sly shield and stopping firewall but to no avail any ideas please

Are you using Krypton 17.0, This hangs at start up.
I have uninstalled it.
Have you tried going on the Kodi forums.

i have had this happen on 2 boxs and a laptop running kodi 17 krypton
i went to kodi..system...settings...video.. then at bottom set settings level to advance
this then showed acceleration..move accross to allow hardware acceleration.amcodec..unselect that..close kodi..
open kodi...if it still does it..go back..put tick back in..and untick next one down
close kodi...open kodi..if still does it..go back..put tick back innow unselect bottom one
close kodi...if none of that has cured it..try unselecting top 2 together just leaving bottom one selected..
just leveing top one unselected...worked for me on 2 boxs and laptop running kodi krypton
or uninstall krypton...use kodi 16.1...untill krypton is bug free

Then went into settings and did update

when kodi stops...do you see this message
unfortunatly kodi has stopped working
if so..the above i quoted is your fix
this is posted on youtube..kodi fix to stop kodi closing randomly
and this is common problem at moment with kodi 17 krypton
