few channels not working today

I wonder what the satellite box manufacturers will think of all this as it must surely hit their sales. Why would anyone buy a box if it cant be used for CS etc?
OK I know we have FTA on various sats plus feeds but most people are/were trying to get something for nothing.
I subscribe to BT sport and I will be cancelling it and definitely not taking out a sly sub!

& the current deal to show cricket on sky ends in 2019
It was said a while back as Sky had paid too much for the football, they wouldn't be in a position to pay for other sporting rights

Its not all doom & gloom buddy, i can get most on my vu duo2 box of what i enjoy watching from approx 15 dif satellites out there for the time been, so i dont feel the box making companies that make Decent Box's have a problem, a cheap crap free gift one's are a bad box to buy and they will suffer now i guess.

Any Decent box's will still sell there boxs.

So was the talk of oscam devs waiting for full on commitment to icam before it came up with a fix just talk? Like that which was written about the sly.it blackout just being a short term problem. Sly is having to protect its advert ridden dross because of so many new platforms evolving, time was it used its power to undermine other competitors posting their own hacks of the oppositions 'cryption, karma says what goes around comes around, if murky doesn't get total control of sly this time the game is up for him. Last night all the sly channels were scrambled on Satellite on my Spiderbox HD9000, also found this to be the same on my Hitebox. What was really strange on this box IPTV were showing old Sly sport programmes not what was advertised, i.e football.

I found the Ars. v Sun. game later on my Spiderbox, but I had search through different sports channels other than Sly to find it, could not say what the language was just turned the sound down.

I watched the Arsenal V Sunderland game on 19.2E, Multifut. 1, 10788 V 22000, part of the Movistar+ package.
When another game is being shown, on their main football channel, Movistar Futbol, they often show games on the Multifut 1-4 channels.
There is also the audio option to just have the ground noise, no commentators.

Theres a great free android app on p/store called ptv sports with both cricket / sports section that works quite well ! Good for another option .

Hi Why so much doom and gloom from people...technology has always evolved for different reasons etc. If one door closes another one will open.. Remember a few years ago encryptions like PowerVu and Tandberg were unhackable ..so they said. Also the recent computer attacks just shows that there are people out there more clever than Microsoft or companies or govenments will ever be. It is humans who have created this technology and they will also break it..

The few UK Sky channels I watch can be seen earlier than I usually see them with the ads already chopped out on Kodi, until they nobble Kodi at some future date.

Those of you who can't get any sat other than 28.2e then consider a now tv box.
I've been using now tv since 2014, you can get a 2 month movie pass for a tenner on a certain site. Then you can get a sports pass for a day for about £3.
Another option is see if any of your mates subscribe to sky and see if they have a spare sky go login. I have a mate who has the full legit sky multiscreen package with 4 sky go logins and doesn't use any of them. He gets one of my BT logins and I get his sky login.
Loads of channels on sky go. I have my pc wired to my telly.

+1. Same here, I've changed ISP to SLy's NowTV Combo WOrks out a tad above 30 quid a month for phone line +50Mb fibre and Sly Movies pass included (then you can apply other passes as/when needed)

I don't think (read as hope) that the Itv 2,3,4 HD channels remain as they are (and tbh i'm pretty sure they will as they were previously hw paired and then became unpaired again).

I would hope not as they are a subvision that the said providers you mention do pay merdoch to be on the card as a package should it stop working i would think the said providers have sold there channels to merdoch or maydo, I hope not as its part of the freeveiw channels pack with the itv stuff, how bt go about it all its anyones guess.

Most of the UK TV channels are FTA on sat & all are on Freeview
Its expected (although not confirmed ) the rest will end up FTA
Maybe with the exceptions of GOLD W & alibi

Also the new Digital Economy Act 2017 has been passed in the HOP
It makes it clear that PSB's are free to charge a retransmission fee for pay-tv platforms but must provide them for free to Freesat & Freeview
So if Sky & Virgin want UK channels 1-5 etc on their EPG they will have to pay them rather than the other way roundI bet that's gone down like a lead balloon in some quarters

I cancelled BT sport HD when they eventually followed sly and introduced pairing, so I will be cancelling SD as well as soon as they introduce icam or whatever it is called.
I still cant get my head around why a competitor uses the same encryption, in theory you need a sly box to be able to receive BT sport, this seems crazy to me.

I dont think its changed a great deal if you have a motorised dish. The footies out there.. just not with english commentary.Theres all the movies you could want as well with kodi and free iptv apps.

Think the thing that puts most off is the lack of English epg. That's why people liked sky, it was just easy.

The EPG Translator Plugin helps alot.

I use it often on Foreign Sat Channels. Ive modded mine to get rid of the annoying Paypal nag too. Not into plugin writers adding that type of thing one little bit.

I've read elsewhere that its just a simple tweak in Oscam that will fix this. I assume they are waiting till Sly stop messing about, I'm sitting cosha anyway as I have a Vu+Turbo. I'm glad I added it to my Vu+ as all is well and in HD its worth the money and worth thinking about.

The cost is anywhere between £22 and £128 a month depending on which packages you choose, but with that top package you do get all channels, with a few in HD and even some in UHD :D

In many ways, I'm glad share-o-vision is coughing its last few breaths.

It was cool and exciting to begin with, but ultimately, it never really had anything to do with the satellite TV hobby. It made us all fat and lazy. And fat.

Only the exclusive few were privvy to the inner workings of the CS cams - everybody else just leached the **** out of it on a scale never seen before. I know that's always been a thing, but at least when you had to patch together your own key files, and scramble round the internet for bits and bobs on a Saturday morning to get the football in the afternoon you had to burn off a few mental calories.

Will we ever see another old-school encryption hack or new-school HW pairing hack? Maybe. Where there's brass there's muck. If someone can make some money, then maybe. Until then, I'll let rip with the WD40 on my motor and be happy about it.

They are broadcast in english & Polish as part of the NC+ & Cyfrowy Polsat packages on 13 East

Also add SkyLink HD (Czech) 23.5 East to the list too

Plus there are loads of channels that carry dual languages

Yes Eurosports 1 & 2 HD Always worked fine on my NC+ Sub card with ENG Audio for Tennis and Snooker etc..:D
BBC Earth , BBC Lifestyle , BBC Brit and CBeebies HD all good too
for me with my NC+ Sub and Feedhunting i'll still be as always watching Sly HD TV content either Via Feeds or via IPTV
so for me no loss whatsoever just more cash in my pocket and none in Murdock's pockets : ))

And new card has sweet nothing to do with anything that is 100% for certain as i know quite a few new subscribers that are STILL being issued old version White Cards .
The change that was made has been as mentioned many times -> iCAM ...and/OR post processing of which most likely requires hardware upgrade of which will never happen due to possible copyright laws and also unkown algo's etc.. probably a lot more complex than we will ever be able to understand .

Rumours around suggesting our favourite UK pay tv provider is no longer will to subsidise some channels as way of saving money
Could mean closures for some or maybe more FTA channels with ads instead of subscriptions

There do seem to be several frequencies for these channels, some still opening and some not, so maybe Satcat is using only those which aren't opening?
(ITV2HD on11053H 23000 does seem to be playing up for me more than the others as it's the only frequency I've found for it but constantly freezing, whereas 3 & 4 seem to be ok on 11095V 23000!
ITV3HD on 11065V 23000 which USED to work now keeps pausing!

At 2246 GMT ITV4 HD on 11096V 23000 still keeps freezing, ITV3 HD 11096V 23000 and ITV2HD on 11053H 23000 now seem fine on my TM5402HD M3 + Cccam!

The three channels mentioned are appearing via AutoBouquetsMaker Scanner of which i havent changed or updated any configs in a long time.

it seems the blackout is slowly but surely been wipeout i can clear comedy central and comedy central+1 both was blackout and also boomerang and the plus 1 are all clearing :respect-014::respect-applause-00

Put a Hitecbox 9000 in for a friend. I notice that quite a few channels were clearing. MTV and some of the other MTV's were clearing. Nick jr and Comedy Central. I know that some were clearing before, but I was surprised by how many. Sony Movies, TLC, Animal Planet and some Discovery. All 28 East. I made a list of frequencies and channels, but left it at my friends house. Some were 0960 and some 0963 were working. AMC from BT was very hit and miss, lots of freezing. Made my look a bit of a fool as I told my friend a lot of it was gone. Using a line with CCcam that is in the box. Worth keeping an eye on.

LOADS of channels are clearing on my TM5402HD M3 - only in SD of course, including those above, Gold, Gold +1, E!, Sony Movies, Sony Movies +1, Cartoon Network, CN+1, W, W+1, Dave, Dave ja vu, alibi, alibi +1, etc etc!!
I had noticed Gold was opening weeks ago, but had maybe wrongly assumed everybody else had too!!

I was very surprised. As the football season was well under way I did take a lot of notice. Only when I set my friends box up, writing down the frequencies on when was clearing on my box, and added them to the FTA channels that he selected to watch on his box, I was amazed by what was opening in SD. I am sure when someone finds the time they will make a list on here to points us on in the right direction of what is opening. On second thoughts, we don't want to alert everyone including the broadcasters to what we know. Enjoy our little Christmas bonus, however long it lasts. Never know all the members that have jumped ship to IPTV may dust off the satellite boxes. IPTV is great but you can't beat a good quality satellite picture. Enjoy everyone while it lasts.

All the afore mentioned channels have ALWAYS remained open. Nothing has changed !

The only channels ever paired were ones also available in HD too, such as History, H2, Nat Geo, Living, Sky 1, Movies, Sports, ect ect ect

If the channel was only ever in SD then it was never paired and still isnt.

There were a few exceptions to this such as Syfy, Universal and Alibi and a few others too, but in general, this is how it always was.

I wasn't going to post about this because its so unbelievable and I cannot explain it and if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, then anyone who claimed this had happened I would call a liar. But the card now has these 4 entitlements that expire on the 28th of Jan 2018.

I can confirm that this is the case, I wont say how, after reading Ian's post I tried it on my box remotely and saw a man sweeping snow from the touch line. This looks a bit odd to me as it is over 30 degrees here.
Edit doesn't seem to be a picture on the sd channel though.

I am 99% sure that D7EA was a freesat sid, so it could be an oversight, or the channel is now softcrypted (fta until something worth watching is broadcast like setanta used to be iirc).

MUTV HD has always opened ok for me, but the sd channel hasn't for some strange reason. It did appear to go HW paired last week, but came came back on a few days later.

But the point is its now opening from my previously dead as a post 0963 card, that's been sent new entitlements for something that I do not subscribe to.

Maybe turned some cards off in error, then turned them back on, including some it shouldn't?

You may need to do a re-scan M8, 11582H symbol rate is 22000, not 27500, also TCM +1 is the only Tcm on this frequency, as per KOS.

Hi Mobley2. You are right. 11582 H symbol rate is 22000 for TCM +1 on Astra 2. The problem I have is that I use the computer and satellite receiver on the same TV. So I have to switch channels to type in the information. A pen and piece of paper may be handy in future. lol

Catseye, I will get my friend to email the list I did for his box that I left over there. As I have not re-scanned for a while I will put the lists on here and other members can fill in the gaps. Channels that was working was correct as of last week. I double check and post the info when I get it.

I've found these last few days that I'm now having problems with all the channels left on 28e. They open OK for about 10secs then freeze. The only way to get them going again is to restart Oscam softcam and then after 10secs they freeze again. I have no problem on other sats. Anybody else having same problem? Is sly up to something?

Yes, the ones that were left on 28.2e are still working OK here - Gold, Dave, Discovery channels, TCM+1, BT Sports, Boxnation, etc., etc..

Also, some HD, ITV2/3/4HD, Boxnation HD, plus a few more.

Yes it's very good that ITVHD2/3/4 all working, especially when they aren't available on Freeview - well not at present anyway!

Not for much longer if my card is anything to go by, originally a FTV Sky card with BT sport added, (I pay for it) has just lost all entitlements, they have reverted to 2016. BT say there is nothing wrong so I fear that this is the end for these cards?

Both working here on TM5402HD M3 & c/s, but +1 better than SyFy, despite same TP etc!! Not holding on either very well, but could be my provider!

I get random loss of certain transponders here - it turns out it is temporary relay transmitters used by DT for special events. Although the carrier is not on the same frequency as a Sat receiver's IF it must be due to harmonics caused by them.

If you have a multi-sat system, check if a transponder on the same frquency but on another satellite is having similar problems.

I have DreamBox 8000HD with Newnigma2.
When I do the scanning on 39° East I can see BH TV and Movie Star tuning in but the channels are not found in the service list.

Is this firmware problem?
