it seems that all eventually will need to install kodi krypton 17.1
i have it installed on my tonbux t11..i was using kodi 16.1..then krypton 17
while krypton 17 was installed..i had turned box on next day,and a pop up appeared
basically it said...kodi 17.1 was required to get the best out of kodi
when i clicked on tv or movies from any packages..i had noticed that the scource list was missing 1080..also only few hd
now with kodi 17.1 installed i get lots more choices of 1080 and hd content
so i went to tvaddons...and they had this on their homepage

This might not be the news you want to hear, but upgrading to the latest version of Kodi is pretty much necessary if you want to continue to enjoy streaming the way you want to. More and more streaming sites are moving to HTTPS, and older versions of Kodi do not offer HTTPS support. This means that at this point you really have no choice but to upgrade to Kodi 17.1 Krypton. This isn’t something that’s just going to go away, might as well do it now. Don’t sweat it though, upgrading Kodi is not very difficult.

If you’re still on an older version of Kodi, you may have noticed that many sources (particularly HD ones) don’t load anymore. Despite the many complaints we receive, this has nothing to do with us or our Kodi addons, it has to do with your Kodi version not supporting HTTPS. Sooner or later all sites will be streaming sources, at which point older versions of Kodi will be rendered useless. Once you’ve upgraded to Kodi 17.1 Krypton, everything will play splendidly again. We’re now going to walk you through the Kodi upgrade.

Sounds about right.
In terms of Skins, I use Spinz TV. Very slick.
If it uses HTTPS, I wonder if the content from Mucky Ducks repo will work again.
I'll give it a try in the week.

today out of curiosity i reset a mygica 582 and installed fusion and kodi 16.1
and a tonbux t11 with krypton 17.1
i fully updated both boxs
now from exodus i chose a movie at random...independence day
on mygica box when it listed scources i was given 3x 1080...5xhd..and a few sd
i then did same on tonbux running krypton 17.1...selected same movie
but this time i was given..17x1080...14xhd...and lots of sd scources
so it seems that the information given on tvaddons is correct
this has nothing to do with mygica box(its an exellant box)its to do with android version on box(not allowing kodi 17.1 install)
and there not been an update available
later today i was asked to upgrade a mxq box...it was android 4,4.2(after checking net saw that no upgrade was available)
so that box after checking on net..is in same position...stuck on kodi 16.1

I cannot get 17.1 to work on my Laptop Win 7, keeps showing that there is a dll file missing and I need SP1, I have SP2 installed
so I will have to spend more time trying to fix this problem.
My Wife has a Laptop with Win 8 and works fine.

Right click on the installer and run it in XP compatibility mode, And that works'

Hi Extrafacto, I am trying to update my Tonbux t11+ from kodi 16.1 to krypton 17.1. I've downloaded the Kodi APK, put on USB, ran the update. But it gives me the "App did not install" error. It seems you were able to do it. How were you able to update your Tonbux Kodi..? I'd like to keep my Exodus intact, so prefer to settings etc.

Before i installed kodi 17..i uninstalled kodi 16.1..ie a fresh install
tvaddons listed a upgrade patch...
but since tvaddons is no longer there..i would stay has you are if you want to install exodus try searching net.for the upgrade
