Just noticed new mscam patch dated 17/04/17, just downloaded it and am now getting the dreaded blue screen and error message "software is damaged".
I have had this before so can hopefully resolve it.

May not happen to everyone, but just passing info on.

Beware!!!!

Hi Thanks.
Likewise, same for me, 'Software Damaged'. I keep a pre-made force_upgrade_rom file on a spare USB stick, so all ok again now. 2.2.08 HTTP still uploads ok.

Tried that got a failure/
Can someone tell where on here is the latest software, I looked all over this forum and can not find it, as many upgrades were done via the default sever.
at the moment the machine is in freeze mode .

Hi,

When jacko01 mentioned the new patch... I had a look at HTTP and I could see the patch with today's date, but it had a strange %20 *or maybe (20%) in the name...

Maybe that strange name is what caused the corruption/dreaded blue screen and error message "software is damaged".

Maybe.

I have noticed that in HTTP there is now a (proabably) new patch (or maybe the same one but with a "legal name"?), with today's date, 2.2.16, but no strange %20 in the name.

Has anyone tried this one? Any issues?

Thanks.

Hi Locoman,
Try reformating your usb stick and reload the force_upgrade_rom s/w. You may have to keep pressing OK button on your remote untill you see the box come to life.

Hi Locoman
Glad to know you sorted it. Regarding the question of trust its your personal choice. Have a opinion of other members. I don't bother with these new patches anymore. Regards

Hi
You can try any of the new firmware relevant to the Hitech 9000HD box, just keep your working 2.08 S/W (re-named to force_upgrade_rom)
on a good USB stick to reload should you need it.

Can everyone who has used the 'USB force upgrade solution say what brand / type of USB they used that worked?
It would help others in the same situation.
