openlen problem.

messing about thought i try and install openlec on my sd card
i format the drive write the generic image to it all goes well
reboot my laptop and it boots into openlec screen it then ask me
to do a quick install of openlec when selected it then asked to select
the preferred drive thats when my problem occurs as it only sees
my c drive and not my sd card ive tried it with sd card / usb drive / hard drive
and get the same result all the time.
can someone tell me where iam going wrong.
