Hello, I'm looking for a top quality, high end satellite receiver, possibly including terrestrial reception in addition. In the past I evaluated STC6000 but it's too old now. One person suggested me S6600 now, he told me it provides very high quality picture and sound, but I don't know this box. It seems S6600 supports terrestrial reception replacing one satellite tuner in it, and it would support internal hdd for recording and time shifting. Could you please confirm? Also, what about computer setting editor? Any tool is available? I would need cccam, too. Please any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Searching deeply on the web, it seems this receiver shares same platform with Openbox SX9. Can anyone confirm please? If so, are tuner/firmware/setting editor the same? I need all possible information about this box. Thanks

You might be better off getting a VU+ Duo 2, which can handle two satellite tuners, twin card, and a cable/terrestrial tuner, inbuilt, as well as USB tuners, and room for either a 3.5", or 2.5", SATA hard drive.
The VU+ Duo 2 can load quite a few images, and you can use the old dreambox tools, the Dreambox Control Centre, or use the VU+ Control Centre.

Yes I know Vu+ Duo2 very well. It is a good box, but I'm looking for more "closed" receiver. Totally open source linux boxes are not for me.... I don't like to use satellite receiver like a computer, placing files here and there in various folders..... so I'm thinking to Icecrypt S6600. Do you think it is not better than Duo2? Thanks.

I can't comment, as I have never owned an icecrypt receiver.
I do have a VU+ Duo 2, and running Open Blackhole I can view lots of Kodi stuff, as well as all my satellite channels.
I am using a twin LNB, on my motorized dish, so have both tuners configured, so that I can record one channel, and view another.
Setting it up is quite simple, and there are lots of guides, and once set up it's easy to use.
You can use the receiver as you want, it's up to you what plugins you wish to use, so you don't have to use it as a media centre, sharing files with your PC.

So, any other knows or tested this receiver? I'm beginning to suspect it's a fake one!

This is an old thread but we use an S6600 for live satellite screenings at our theatre. It has two tuners (fixed, as far as I know) and we connect one to Thor (satellite screenings) and the other to Astra (for BBC, etc).
I don't know if it will accept a terrestrial aerial, I'm not sure why anyone would need to do that.
