Which channels have you tried it on, 4K, HD, SD?
Have you tried the smart TV options, BBC iplayer, etc, or with a DVD player, just to test the quality?
I did find this:
Ideal picture settings
Brightness 52
Colour 65
Contrast 95
Profile Standard
Sharpness 25
Backlight setting 64
Mickha, thanks for the reply M8.
Tried it on freeview play with channel 5 on demand the picture was a bit grainy.
My settings are more or less the same apart from sharpness i like a really soft picture that is down to 10
Tried all the picture settings Standard,Eco,Game,Sports,Hdr.
In my vu box i set it to auto res so it switched when switching channels hd.sd.
I used to have set to 2160 with the samsung tv all was ok
With the LG if it was the 2160 the hd was grainy as sd was terrible

Can you get to a store, that stocks that brand of television, and view the quality?
There might be something wrong, with your TV.
the Ideal Picture Settings was from "Which" website, unfortunately you can't get their review, unless you subscribe.
there are other reviews, that state what a great picture quality, the TV has, but I'm not sure how far they can be trusted.

It might be worth contacting LG, and expressing your disappointment, with the picture quality.

That is why i went for it because of the reviews
I have been down to cardiff store today.
But all the TV'S you see are fed from a internet streaming demo mod and all the TV's are set to demo mod.
So you can't get a true picture.
I have had a look of their terms and conditions and you can return the tv for up to 14 days after buying and have a refund .
Thanks for your time M8.

It was much easier when they ran an aerial connection, and you viewed actual television.
It might still be worth contacting LG support, just in case the television is faulty, but if you are guaranteed a full refund then you can take your time and get a more suitable television.
All the reviews seemed positive, at least about the picture quality, just a pity that the reality doesn't seem as good as the reviews.
