if you have selected bbc1HD on 28.2 east the motor should have moved over to where that satellite is and so the darkmotor will no longer be on zero , it will be over near 28.2 east
ensure your sat box has the correct usals in it , the dish elevation is probably around 27 to 28 degrees so lock that up too
your latitude on your motor will be something like 53.5 so lock it up at that , so the dish and motor are tightened up
53.55 N , 2.63 W
once the motor has moved to over near 28.2 east , move the motor mount left or right round the pole until the lnb is pointing at 28.2 east and you get BBC1 HD (so same direction as a sly dish)
fine tune it to get the best signal by adjusting the mount left or right slightly and the dish elevation up or down slightly
once it is a strong signal , lock everything up and test free to air channels from 42 east to 30 west
or select sly news international on 0.8w on 12418V 28000 and set it up on thor instead , which will be near the zero marker on the motor
or use 1 music on 0.8w on transponder 11900H 28000

Had a quick look this morning so when setting up does it matter where 0 on the motor is pointing
Dish is aligned with the motor set on 0 got BBC1 HD tuned in
USALS set sent to BBC HD on spiderbox then moved motor cannot find BBC HD again

Dish should be aligned with the motor set at 0 pointing at 0.8W.

Dish should be aligned with the motor set at 0 pointing at 0.8W.
I am afraid that is not correct '0' degrees on the motor is just that it is there so you can roughly point to due south and when you put in your Lon and Lat details 0.8° west so be slightly off 'Centre' or just off '0'
Wigan is roughly 2.6º west so when the motor moves to 0.8° west it should come back east on itself slightly.
I do know as you head towards south 'London' that 0.8° west will be more than likely dead on Zero

the ZERO on your motor should be almost pointing at 3 west , as zero always points at true south , in your case 2.63 W
so 0.8w will be slightly off the zero mark, as it is on mine here in m/cr
I would not be worrying about where the zero on the motor should point
set up your spiderbox with the correct usals , and a working channel list that contains FREE TO AIR channels on each satellite
if you are going to use 0.8w for setting up I already tested those channels I gave you earlier so use those for lining up
there is no point fixating on the motor markings as they are not needed for this procedure
you can set it up using usals on ANY satellite , but somebody in say LEEDS may well use 0.8w and find there motor is on its ZERO position, but you are in WIGAN , not Leeds , so further west than myself , and I am west of the greenwich meridian
you could use the FTA channels on 5 west for setting up instead
(this sat is a bit further west so again will set the motor to show slightly away from the sero mark)
TV8 MONT BLANC on 12564V 29950 and VOSGES TV on 12564V 29950
the 3 west channels (if any) would be more or less ZERO on your motor
so yes it DOES MATTER, the ZERO on your motor should point at 2.63 W (your longitude) , so you are roughly halfway between 0.8w and 5w , so in the middle and they will lieslightly either side of your zero marker when found
ps:- all my above info was based on me testing my darkmotor on my own spiderbox6000 from m/cr (which is 2.1w , so slightly east of you)

Thanks again i thought that if i set it to 0 sent it to bbc hd using usals then just turned the motor until i got bbc hd that would be okay

as long as the motor moves from ZERO over to NEAR 28 east it will be ok as far as the motor is concerned
but the DISH still needs to be lined up horizontally and vertically until its receiving exactly from 28.2 east
this is done by slight alterations of the dish elevation around 27.5 degrees , so maybe up to half a degree eitehr way, PLUS horizontally by physically moving the motor on its pole mount by slackening the nuts a bit
you do this whilst having the spiderbox and tv on bbc1HD and press the INFO button twice so you see the signal and quality bars onscreen
when you are "locked on" the picture should clear and those strength bars give a high signal of say 80% to 100%
should you choose to use 5w or 0.8w then the same applies but the motor will be near the ZERO marker and you can use the FTA channels I gave you earlier
also, if using 0.8w then the lnb will be vertical and the cable entry points are usually underneath the lnb at the 6 o clock position (the skew)
however , if using 28.2e the lnb will be skewed as will the dish , so put the motor to 0.8w and set the NO skew aspect on the lnb (entry cable or cables to point straight down at 0.8w)
