Hi, I recently bought the new MAG322 W1 as the 254s have gone out of production. The main difference seems to be better picture, it is reported on other sites that it uses less band width but I cannot confirm this. I could not say it is any faster than the 254 but a lot depends on your server. There was reported issues with certain servers being incompatible due to the format they are broadcasting on but I have not experienced and problems. Make sure you take in any software updates before you try anything. Hope this helps
