Pole been looking a little rusty so removed some tape and foam it was filled with :o15:
Looks a bit worse than i thought i know the ends will rust a bit faster but don't want it coming down next winter.
I've found a company that can supply a galvanized one for £87 inc delivery , don't seem too bad to me .
Has to be 3 inch / 3 meter Anyone any recommendation feel free to pm me .
a silly question im in Nottingham how fare from me are you and what diameter is it
side of my house ive got a 3 mt length fairly thick gage ally pole abouts 3 inch across if its any good to ya

Keep an eye open for knocked down street sign poles, most are 3" diameter and recent ones are alloy, they are perfect for the job.

@cosworth4x4 And how do you plan to connect pole to the ground? Or it will be attached to the wall?
any forum members i.e. lorry driver or who have a good roof rack traveling through Nottingham going to south wales can help another forum member out need a 10 ft long 3 inch wide ally pole from Nottingham to south wales

Isn't alloy too weak for a large heavy dish that will catch the wind?
I would have thought steel would be needed.

I have just got myself a 1.2m Gibertini. Is a 3 inch alloy pole going to be strong enough for it?

It's a pole from a street sign. It was knocked down well over a year ago and has been left laying on the floor for all that time so the local council are not concerned about it.

I suppose it depends how thick the wall is , im going steel as my dish is pretty high up and gets a good battering with the winter winds.

I still have to change mine to a 3 inch diameter pole.
Been busy doing loads of DIY to keep wife happy.
I will also be upgrading to a Gibertiny dish 1.25 when I do the pole.
I must do it all before Winter sets in or it will be too windy and wet to do the job.

It was hard work but did it all in one day , that included putting up and taking down the scaffolding Painting the wall mounts , re aligning the dish took a good bit of time i positioned it at the weakest sat but it clouded over and ended up with no signal so had to get the Meter out and find another , just my luck :D .

Channel Master is such a nice dish that it looks nice on the pole of any condition. However, cleaning the back of the dish is a pain :smash:
