View Full Version : what sats should i be able to pick up on 1m dish

I have a 1m dish, what satellites should i be able to pick up besides these. i can get 0.8w,13e,23.5e,19.2e,30w but looking to see if i can get other sats for feeds as i dont seem to get much on 7e,10e,12.5w,22w or 24.5w. should i be able to pick up some of these satellites from north west any help much appreciated thanks.

Yes you should, providing your dish is aligned correctly.
Check out William-1's guide, for the strongest transponders.
This is only a guide, for finding satellites, in the UK, a lot depends on your location, size of dish, and even receiver, but it does help.

start with 42 east and work your way round to 30w, checking for strong FTA channels on each satellite position

tick them off one by one as you step round, bearing in mind that some channels may be scrambled even though they have a strong signal , like on 23.5e

pay particular attention to 42e , 39e , 16e , 10e , 9e , 7e , 4.8e , 5w , 27.5w (if you are using the correct codes etc for BBC satback etc (this is a topic on its own and dependent on the receiver being used as well as other factors , so leave 27.5w until last or dont bother if you get 28.2 east ok)
