What firmware does Giff Gaff use in the UK?
I know they use o2 network, so is it o2 firmware or non carrier firmware?

Sorry, I meant to update this.
I now know it is o2 branded firmware but I have put a non-branded firmware on an old S6 Edge so my daughter can use her GiffGaff sim card with it.

if the phone is unlocked the giffgaff sim should work without any faffing about

Yes it does, but I had to put the latest firmware on it as the phone had been in a drawer for a couple of years at least.

Yes. I flashed the S6 Edge with the latest firmware, non-branded.
I could have put o2 firmware on it if I wanted to.
