Reference HitechBox HB9000 latest update :- re Utube9000_2.4.57_2020.05.02

Do any of our members have any details as to what the update entails, is it a fix? or is it new programme.

I know on many of the past updates, the Youtube App. was not working.

Hi johnherry,

I still haven't had a chance to try installing it since I posted my "Anyone tried 2.4.57?" post.

Sorry, too many things.

Reference HitechBox HB9000 latest update :- re Utube9000_2.4.57_2020.05.02

Last night I update to above, it went well.

1. First noted difference being the desktop is only two pages which is okay, as you can still turn Ad*lt app off.

2. My TV :- working okay but with African channels only.

3. YouTube :- working okay.

4. VOD cinemas :- working well.

5. Media Portal :- only one internal app which is MUSIC VIDEOS. works okay.

6. PVR cinemas :- working okay.

7. Internet Apps:- Internet photos, now only Flickr which is good as that was the best app, now seems a lot less clutter.

8. Ad*lt Apps :- All now working.

The above apps are only the ones I can comment on, as I do not use others on the desk tops.

Thanks again for the update support for this receiver.

Hi,

Finally got the time, and the courage, to update to 2.4.57.

As reported by johnhenry, everything seems ok.

This time with the added bonus that time, motor settings, channel list, start up channel, sea lions... were preserved. No need to waste time reloading everything.

Thanks!

Loaded Tuesday seems OK . Like Tinto says good that it retains all my underlying settings

Last night there was an additional "Test" section in MyTV.

Interesting... fingers crossed.

Thanks!

Not sure if it is the actual box or the firmware... but it has happened again.

Although I have to admit that it is the first time with the newest 2.4.57.

I switched on the box today... and the box had forgotten most of the info:

NO startup channel

NO motor settings

NO current time and date

NO x icon

...

Channel list and FAVs were not lost, neither the sea lions, luckily.

Not a big deal, but still a bit annoying having to enter all the info again (especially finding my Start up channel for which I am never sure if I need to press P+ or P-... for 56 0 69 times (memory loss also affecting me apparently!).
