I am trying to get 42e but my motorized dish cant pick up anything after 19e because of a tree the tree is right by a neighbours fence, I have a zone 1 sky dish ponting at 28e this is on the wall where my other is is pole mounted is there any way this might be able to pick it up, also what motor and bracket would you recommend to motorize my sky dish and what sats could I pick up on this thanks.

Sky dishes are simply not designed to be used with a motor .
The brackets on the sky dish would never fit around a disecq motor so what you are saying makes little to no sense .
Turk Sat has always been an easy sat to lock so you very likely will be able to catch it on a Sky Dish making it a fixed dish and forgetting about 28 East but a very big majority of channels on 42 East Turk Sat will only be in Turk language ...what exactly are you looking for or hoping to achieve anyway ??

I would like to get 42e, but would be good if I could get other sats on the sky dish

what i did, remove pole mounted sky zone one dishfrom bungalow chimney ,fitted old darkmotor to pole, bought steel plate 6 by 3 by 3/16 off the bay drilled holes in plate 4 for u bolts to clamp plate to motor arm ,4 to bolt sky pole mount dish to plate, altered sky lnb skew, moved motor to thor, altered dish elevation, found thor, then found arc.wae suprise to get so many sats as far as 52 e,,,and yes you can use a sky dish on a motor takes a bit of work, but IT WORKS has been workin for over a year now....joe MUST FILE OFF notch
on sky lnb to allow it to rotate to vertical as per big dish...(.u-bolts with v-plate) MOTOR-O>Clamp\C dish

as above , a sky dish can be adapted to work on strong satellites, including 42e , 39e , 23.5e , 19e , 13e , 10e , 30 west etc, but definitely alter the lnb so the skew can be sorted out too, as its preset to 28e

there are various sky dishes with different clamp arrangements so some can be adapted to clamp to a scaffold pole or similar pole as a fixed dish, so for example on the same pole as a motorised dish but on one particular satellite, my lads does this task and I focussed it on 28e with a quad lnb, for multiple 28e feeds to a duo2 etc (his fixed sly dish has the twin ouput data lnb for sly Q so we repurposed an old dish and quad lnb)

a ZONE 2 59cm dish works better than a zone 1 dish for this topic too, bigger dish equals better signals, I can vouch for using one on 30 west for example and I modified the lnb for the alternate skew

Has anyone tried to get either 52 or 62 east on a sky dish ?

The transponders on the east and west beams on 52 east are strong signals.10804 h 27500 and 12303 v 27500 are examples.

I'm told that 11555 v 30000 on 62 east is a very strong signal.

52e FINE NEVER TRIED 62 due to nearby trees

Are the 2 transponders I listed on 52 east fine with a sky dish ?

Do you lose the signal if it rains ?

both fine and a LOT more

Joe

How big is this dish you are getting 52 east on ?

Is it the equivalent of a 60cm or an 80cm circular dish ?

Do you get strong signals on 52 east ?

Thanks

ITS the small/standard sky dish ,quaity signal

I've got one of those as well, fixed on 28 east but I don't use it.

Its very impressive getting 52 east on such a small dish.

Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure you would need a bigger dish to get 62 east.

I'm not sure of your location but from the UK 62E is very close to the horizon which means the signal has to pass through a long track of the earth's atmosphere thus weakening it substantially. It is also very weather dependent.

Sky Zone 2 dishes are a big step up from the Zone 1 dishes. As well as a near trebling of the signal, they are more selective.

I use Zone 2 dishes in the French alps to get 28E (normally a fringe area) and most channels are OK except HD ones are vulnerable when it snows.

An alternative to a motorised set-up is a multi LNB bracket on a fixed dish. If you can receive 42, 52 and 62E that would be a nice option for a multi LNB bracket. Just set it up with the weakest Sat on the central LNB.

I'm in Norfolk in the East of England.

I think an 80cm dish is the minimum size required in order to get 62 east from here.

I was thinking of taking down my very small sky dish which is very near the chimney on the top of the house.I never use it, and replacing it with an 80cm dish in order to get 62 and 52 east.

The elevation of 62E from your location is 8 degrees above horizontal.

I didn't realise it has a subsidiary spot beam to reach across Europe including the UK.

Good luck - report back if you get it set-up.
