you could use any offset polarmount with a modified backplate 1.2m channel master would work in a sheltered location 1.8m c/m is a heavy dish

i do have a very rugged and robust polarmount here from my irte 1.2m prime focus dish, but im told it will not work with a offset dish unless its modified as in you would need to extend its declination for more tilt is this correct?.

you could buy a pre made adaptor from 1.2 to 1.8 for CM ages ago but was expensive

im after a offset polarmount that is strong and robust and i could home make a plate adaptor to fit the back of the cm 1.8m
or if its possible to mod my irte prime focus polarmount to work on my cm 1.8m offset that would be ideal, maybe some one on here knows if its possible to mod it as in the declination part on the irte polarmount to suit the offset 1.8m

@ butchyboy found the photos of genuine cm polar mount , and both dishes next to each other .
The difference in size is only .6 but it looks hell of a lot more and its the thickness that makes up the weight on it .

i suppose theres no way of getting the dimensions of the original cm polarmount for the 1.8m offset dish cause could get one welded up.
That's shocking how much bigger the 1.8 M is, Never thought it would be that much difference.
I bought my Channel Master 1.2 in 1993 as I couldn't afford the extra for 1.8 at the time, after see the pictures of them together I'm glad I didn't get the 1.8 it would have been too big for my location.

it is but its a more heavey duty made polarmount to accomodate for my friends 2m dish,i have no doubt it would be fine on my cm 1.8m but would need to get one made up like it.

hi guys would anyone with this polarmount from the cm 1.8m offset dish be able to send me pictures and dimensions of the whole polarmount lentgth of steel and diameter etc
i really could do with your help as im going to fabricate one myself, but need the length diameter etc of the steel involved.
Hi butchyboy,
I replaced a channelmaster 1.2 with a 1.8 on an existing mast and so i had a new bracket fabricated. This enabled me to mount the original 1.8 polar mount onto the mast / post.
I can take some pics if you need some type of direction.
