You can manually scan in the channels, using the new frequencies, and the clear option, to remove the previously scanned in channels, or try a full blind scan.

Which transponders have changed?

They are still the older channels, with the old frequencies.
You need to delete these and copy across the new channels, this is a lot quicker, and easier, if you use a tool like dreamboxedit, as you can quickly download your channel list, from your receiver, then edit the bouquets, deleting all the old channels, and then move the newly scanned channels, into the relevant bouquet.
If you haven't use dreamboxedit, before, there are some guides, but basically you download it:
Tools (satpimps.co.uk) (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?1097-Tools)

You need to set up a new folder, on your PC desktop, and call it settings, default name, and location. Start up dreamboxedit, click on tools, at the top, and options. Now you enter your receivers IP address, username, which is root, and password, you have set up on your receiver, if you haven't set one leave it blank, unless running one of the later images, which requires you to set a password.
Use the test options, and if they work click save.
Now go to File, and Fast FTP Download.
Once your list has been downloaded start editing. On the right you can see your bouquets, on the left all your channels. If you have multiple satellites click the all satellites box and select 30W, to make it easier.
Transfer the channels, you want to put in your bouquets, and once finished save the list.
Once saved click file and FTP, which will allow you to send your newly edited list, back to your receiver, and re-boot it.

Appreciate your help. Basically the bit I missed was after the scan completed I could pass the new frequencies from the receiver back to the chanels list through dreambox. All sorted

Thanks

My guess is that you need a new satellites.xml file. It lists the transponders together with frequency, polarity symbol rate, FEC and quadrature plus a few other items.

If Hispasat change any of those parameters the box cannot ccorrectly interogate the transponder unless it has a blind scan capability.

At present a load of transponders are being changed from "S" type to "S2", even though the channels are not changing from SD to HD, because S2 is a more efficient protocol.

As Detlef says, you need a new satellite.xml file.

satellites-xml.org/
Put it in etc/enigma2.

Thanks guys. Regarding the file I don't see any satellite.xlm file on etc/enigma2 however I see it on tuxbox?

As Detlef says, you need a new satellite.xml file.

Put it in etc/enigma2.

I'm still using a Vu+ duo which doesn't follow the DreamBox file structure. My satellites.xml file is in etc/tuxbox

Not sure if this is common for the earlier Vu boxes as I got it second hand.

Yes. The xml file that comes with the image is in etc/tuxbox, you can over right that one, but it is recommended that you put your own one in etc/enigma2 where it will get priority.

That's with the openvix image. I am assuming it's the same for all images, but I may be wrong.

For nearly 20 years I've been using DBs and I'm still learning :blush5:

Thx Satcat.
