The first batch of any model Dreambox so far has been the worst, and have needed mods, so might be worth waiting for the 2nd batch. :D

I've been waiting for this for ages, mainly to get the tuner mix into one box. I haven't got a HD TV yet, so I think I might go for the tele first, then the dm8000 especially as the first releases usually seem to have problems. Anyway what image are you going to use when they first come out.

Whats the betting 650 euros converts to at least £650 .would you take that rate for your holiday,
Not bothered anyway as I don't think it'll be out as quick as that or are dream media too lazy to give this news out on thier web page ?
:)

thats the pre order prize the swedish distributor took from end users .
that order is fully booked now , as for dream multimedia info to public i have
no idea about that , but i'm sure they keep close contacts with their distributors .
the price was exactly 6500 SEK more or less 650 euro .

Well its all there .but as I said no mention on their site about it or a release date,Swedish is not in my knowledge .anyone tell when delivery of these orders are being filled.
My local fountain of knowledge states its nowhere being ready .wonder what he thinks after this.I'd thought our board Sponsors might have some info being in the trade. Price comment was about ripoff britain in general
Hope it is as good as every one thinks its going to be,:)

whats this line from the above spec (first post on this thread )
"H.264 HDTV 1080i, DVI or HDMI Connector "
As far as I know you can still run hdtv with DVI conections .there seems to be an army of connection boxes etc building up .as most tv only have one or the other and only one .soon be more hdtv stuff to connect anyway
Still no sign on my local dealers site or elsewhere????

Because you buy a dvi-hdmi lead for 10 squid. Same signal, just different plug with no audio.

At 650€ / £440 approx! for the basic model is quit good, but the add-ons... at what price are these likely to be?
Additional turner = £60?
DVD-RW = £50 (likely hood you can't uses a standard DVD-RW)
IDE/SATA kit for HDD/DVD = £15 each!
What I'm hoping to see is Blue Ray! DVDs will be dead (Like VHS) in 3-5 years (although you might not see the box 8000 until Blue ray is standard:D release date 2010!:p)
Realistically look at the life span of you will want from this unit! it really will need Blue Ray & SATA!

now it dealers r sasysing in may or june,
so i think we r looking back light of car , and car is going fast,
again long period,
but i think its better that they improve db if there is any problem b4 releasing it, and improve it,
yesterday on dish tv i was watching topfild hd reciver with many drawbacks,
very slow on hd channels,
somecolors it can not show,
4 sec it take to change channel,
no onoff button, and may other problems
so its better to wait ,
but still i am waiitng for it

Spoke with a German dealer last week and he said July-August. Something to do with the MPEG-4 processor availability. When it is released there will be a limited supply on the first batch.
When you hear about the 9000s that is when the 8000s will be on sale.

Dreambox seem to really be promoting the 8000 so I am guessing it won't be that long now. I got a flyer with my 600pvr saying that it's coming soon and also my mate ordered a 500s and there's a flyer in there too lol.
I guess they're just making people more eager to get one, So a longer wait is better for them in my opinion.

I'm on the way to home...after 3 days of ANGA....i've talk this morning with Tim( Dream Multimedia Boss), and he make me clearance in some my dubts regarding DM 8000.
First ...the machine will be in the market not before than latest months of the year( my experience say it will be out on February ), the price will be around 700€(without the drives Hdisk and DVD burner), the STB already record HDTV contenutes, it has 4 slot CI in order to use different cam, for different tuner in the same moment( so it will be able to be used in multi decryption ), it has inside two wireless card in order to work with the router in wifi mode.
I've take some new OSD pictures, and tomorrow i'll post them in this thread.

700 euros about 470 quid.
+ a 200gb HD for recording hd programs + DVD Burner add 130 quid
thats 600 quid for it about the same price for a cheap 42" HDTV lcd.
But doesnt it sound tempting. 4 tuners , wireless. Thats sweet. Will start saving up this summer. About 9 months with what COrrect said to February. So 20 quid a week should do it.

i wouldn't read to much into the specs....i read so many supposed spec sheets on the 8000 my mind swims, take it all with a pinch of salt mate, and let's get an official statement from DMM, and let's see if the box really exist.
And before you scream at me, yes! i know i've seen the photos of the 8000 too from the german exhibition last year and still nothing from DMM.
How many times have we heard not this month but next and so on and so on, and we're still here.

Since you talked to a DMM boss, have you learned from first hand the only thing I´m interested in regarding DM8000: Have they finally acquired the license for HDMI and HDCP support??? That´s the reason they have been postponing the DM8000 release for so long.

h**p://www.satellitehelp.co.uk/portal/content/view/71/2/ It would finally seem to be OFFICIAL! And the second download here in the "DM 600" section even includes a "flyer", and that's on the OFFICIAL Dream Multimedia site!h**p://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/english/products_flyer.php Although, trying to actually find one for sale anywhere is so far impossible, but an acknowledgement of it's EXISTENCE on the Dream site is certainly a step in the right direction.
That first URL you posted is over a year old, and the second doesn't show anything.
The word is the DM8000 will be released August of this year.
